I normally use my MixPre 6 II as my primary recorder for violin, cello, and other musical instruments. However, setting up the MixPre is always a hassle, and I don't like how it has to be powered. When something requires too much time and effort, there's a tendency to hesitate in using it. Since getting this recorder, I can start my recordings within a matter of seconds (literally). I can easily bring it anywhere, and it has become my preferred device for sound recording. The sound quality with the built-in mic is excellent, comparable to the MixPre II (of course depending on the mic you use). It is better than the Zoom H6 I used to own, especially for recording musical instruments. I also have the DJI MIC 2, which is excellent for voice and highly portable. However, when it comes to recording musical instruments, it falls short compared to the PCM-A10. 5 |

A fantastic value for the money. From beginner to expert musician can have so much fun and enjoyment with this recorder type instrument. Also great that it uses the recorder base for the fingering and is very intuitive. Being able to change keys, makes it fantastic for playing with transposing instruments. The 10 different voices : two being oriental instruments the other eight being western add to its flexibility. For instance, the Trumpet voice can be shifted lower so that it sounds and can play the range of the trombone. , 5 |

It's just so unreal to actually have a power supply instead of having to use batteries. Actually, it's unfathomable to me that a company like Korg, who make instruments for pros would even consider selling their gear without a bonafide power supply...what a joke 5 |

great recorder. I saw that a professional tv commerical production company that I interned for uses these so I decided to get one for my freelance work. they work awesome! and very affordable!! The knobs are the big feature as it's easier to control the levels coming in, rather than actually pressing a button. I can screw it into the bottom of my camera, so my camera is on top while the recorder itself is mounted to the tripod. 5 |

Very pleased with the purchased of this, my second SONY digital voice recorder. The first was purchased 5 years ago. SONY is never a company to side idle with their product. This is a big improvement over the previous model, which was very good. This new model is superb, outstanding engineering. 5 |

The DR-70D has been the ideal audio recorder for our company's needs. We typically hire a sound guy if things are super imperative or the set up is intense, and I wouldn't ever replace a sound op with this device. However, for the run and gun interviews or to tie into a sound board for a stereo feed, this little guy is ideal. The audio quality is extremely clean. The menus and overall navigation are a breeze compared to some other recorders. It has a reasonably rugged build as well. Very glad we added this to our kit. 5 |

Pelican is a solid company with solidly built gear. Like all things, you have to pay attention to things being specifically marketed with certain brands attached. This same case, marketed as a go pro case adds about $ bucks with other vendors. I wouldn't get a Pelican case that didn't have pluck and pull foam, I don't care what other inserts are available. But this case doesn't disappoint, and is plenty big enough for one camera and most accessories. You could probably get two cams in if you're careful with placement. I wish all their cases use the storm closures, they're much better. It's the same closure that's on their coolers, and they're bullet proof. 5 |
