Recording Computer Playback On Windows

For the cost, this Mic is absolutely amazing. I run Windows 7 and as soon as I plugged it in it was ready to go. The playback was great..clear. I would recommend this product.

I use this as a desktop mic for narrating screencasts. It also works well with Windows 7 speech recognition for dictation and PC control. The Go Mic records clear, strong audio signal. It has some capability to serve as a playback speaker, which is a feature I don't use. When first plugged in, the driver set the Go Mic as my default playback speaker, which silenced my normal PC speakers. It was confusing at first, but easy to correct in Windows through the Sound control panel.

I use it to record and playback audio from Pro Tools 10 on Windows 7. What can I say, Its a really really fast Barracuda 2TB at a price NO ONE WILL BEAT!

I needed a digital recorder to record telephone conversations (using a commercially available splitter in the handset line of the telephone). After carefully comparing available products and pricing, I bought the DM-420 from B&H via internet. ... The instructions are easy to follow (a big plus, because I am recovering from a brain injury -- I returned another similar device, to a different dealer, because its operating instructions were gibberish). (1) The device works perfectly for its intended purpose. It does not pick up interference from computers or other nearby devices. It is a snap to transfer the mp3 files to the computer (Win XP Pro) via USB cable. Playback via computer speakers was crystal clear. (2) I also used the DM-420 yesterday to record a concert performance ... playback over the built-in speaker was clear in the high and mid-ranges but lacking bass; however, playback via the computer speakers is excellent, including the the bass voices. (3) I also recorded voice conversations yesterday using the built-in microphone; playback through the built-in speaker is clear and even very faint background conversations are intelligible. Very happy with this product!

We were looking for a receiver compatible with our unit from the 70's that would accommodate our reel to reel allowing recording and playback. This receiver more than compensated that use as well as plug ins for phono and other accessories. We love everything about this receiver!!

I bought this recorder for filmmaking and music recording. Before this recorder, I’ve been using H4n for a while, which also provides reliable recordings. I see a huge improvement in functionality on H6 that definitely worths the price difference. H6’s modular mics and 4 inputs provides much more flexibility. The user interface is also much more intuitive and efficient. I can conveniently adjust each channels with the physical knobs (instead of having to select and adjust with buttons like on H4n). On H4n, I need to press the REC button to start monitoring and then press once again to start recording; while on H6, monitoring starts when the channel being selected so I only need to press REC once for recording. The color screen is also a big improvement, although it’s a TN screen with low resolution which doesn’t look very pleasant. The extra line out is also useful for sometimes when I want to playback, but remember to turn off mic channels before connecting to loudspeakers to avoid severe feedback, even just for playback. That’s because it automatically goes back to live record mode when it finishes the playback. The self noise of the preamp is improved, but there is still a noticeable amount of noise due to the limit of its size. More advanced user may look into F8n, which has 10dB lower self noise and much more functionalities. The build of H6 does not feels as metallic as it looks on the images. Actually it feels kind of plastic and cheap, but I guess that’s keeping it lightweight. The wind shield and strap comes in this set is kind of cheap.

Excellent audio interface with a lot of great features such as, LCD display for I/O level, quality mic pre-amp, MONO/STERO monitoring, etc. No complain at all at this price point for the recording and playback quality (I do enjoy iTunes music from it).  Build quality is far exceed its price, and more important it's assembled in USA, giving high confidence to use it in various situation (including outdoor). Bundled softwares are sufficient for casual recording & mixing. The Ableton Lite license is eligible for 2 machines, MAC OS or Windows10, This is just great for my case using two laptops (one for vocals, one for voice-over inside Da-Vincci). I don't mind if priced bit higher if (1) the LCD can also display current recording / playback sample rate (2) 2nd headphone output, which is great for recording 2 MICs with 2 person Happy recording, and enjoy using it everyday as a casual / dummy home user

I purchased this as a solution for monitoring recording and playback in a small home studio setup and it has worked beautifully. Its nice and compact and has plenty of ins & outs for the needs of a small setup. Plus, after a lot of searching, the price here on B&H was by far the best!

These headphones give great quality for recording and playback analysis. I was moving the one pair I had from sound booth to studio daily, so I decided to buy a second pair.
