This is the perfect item for powering clip-on instrument microphones or PZM's, especially when recording to a portable digital recorder with built in XLR jacks. Good Luck finding another model at this low price... 5 |

I use it for recording on a budget, and it works as a mic and guitar preamp. I would imagine that any other instrument you can plug into it would sound great as well. It has the distinctive sound that you'd expect from a valve. And with a guitar plugged up to it, any but the most picky audiophiles would be hard pressed to tell it apart from a tube amp. It also functions as a splitter as it sends signals through both the XLR and TS (1/4) outputs at the same time. It was so well worth the $ dollars that I ordered a second one within minutes of receiving the first. 5 |

I use this product in vocal recording and podcasting. I have some future plans for instrument recording with it and have done some testing there as well. This arm is quiet when moved and stays when I put it in a particular position. It works well with other mics as long as they have a bit of weight. The only thing I found that may be a minus is when it is used with a light microphone, but I find that to be an obvious problem for a spring loaded broadcast arm. 5 |

A very good recording tools for me to capture every choir practice and instrument lessons. It can be recorded in WAV or MP3 files. I also use it for video conferencing, virtual choir recording. H1n attached with XY stereo microphone, Sound quality is like pro. Simple operation which music teacher can handle Download to PC is easy as a USB drive. I suggested to all musicians, they love it so much! 5 |

I’ve been using this for field recording and grabbing instrument samples around the apartment. Upgraded from a Zoom H5 and the difference is quite dramatic. Even small things like the UI menus are laid out well. The preamps are very very detailed, and work well with any mic I can throw at them. Shotguns, small condensers, various contact mics, $10 radio shack lavs from the 80s, all sound very upfront and full. The ability to link channels in L/R or M/S is great. The polywav workflow is not the annoyance that I thought it would be, since it actually makes previewing and organizing much easier. The only serious annoyance is that the headphone knob also doubles as the data entry, which can be tough to reach sometimes. 5 |

I have used this versatile microphone for instrument recording and tested it's use as a spare/secondary film dialogue microphone. For instrument recording, It sounded excellent used as drum overheads. It captured the full sound of the drums, and did especially well with the highs produced by the cymbals. I also used it as an ambiance mic to record a guitar amp from a distance of roughly 6 feet. It was able to capture details that the up close dynamic mic could not pick up. This mic combined with a close up dynamic mic makes an excellent guitar amp recording combo. As for film dialogue, It actually worked really well. It is not as bassy as other mics, but it captured the voice really well from a distance of about 2 feet, and the voice sounded crisp. It also did well rejecting noise from the room.. I am happy to have added this little mic to my gear inventory 5 |
