Very well built. Very stable and adjustable for different sizes of alto and tenor saxophone. Also adjust the height. 5 |

This mic was recommended to me by a saxophone buddy who used this for both live performance and recording. This has served me well in both capacities and I was able to move around during the performance and play comfortably! 5 |

The Shure SM57 is a world class microphone. It's been around for ages and, while that doesn't have to mean much because some mics such as the SM58 I find to be always an inferior option, I think with the 57 Shure have really nailed it. I bought this for a recording session for an acoustic guitarist I work with. The mic sounded great on each guitar he brought in. Or rather the guitars all sounded great through it. Naturally you'll want to do additional processing for a polished recording but this mic offers such a wonderful sound on all it captures. Just a little EQ & compression along with any time based effects will really make your source material shine. I now primarily use this as a vocal mic live and in the studio. It works wonderfully for that as well. Live I use no additional processing and in the studio I get pretty effect heavy. In both situations it stands up. The Shure SM57 is at home in anyone's studio or live rig and I truly believe Shure will probably be manufacturing this microphone for all eternity with good reason. 5 |

I'm using SM57 for recording music or speech etc. in a small hall with setting mic stands in front of speakers. For a video shooter like me, audio quality is really important. In the case of live recording, getting a line signal from a PA mixer is ideal, however, sometimes it is better to stand SM57 in front of speakers, because the balance of signal and surrounding noise is awesome, so it can be heard more naturally than a PA line. SM57 and SM58 are the most reliable mics. I don't need to say so anymore. Of course, the audio quality is super clear and the metal body is so stable. The mic stand and cable including this bundle are also enough stable for this price. 5 |

The SM57 is a great workhorse mic for recording instruments - it came quickly and in safe packaging. The whole kit with an XLR cable and mic stand is a great deal and is everything you need to get recording into your interface! 5 |

Using this mic for recording acoustic guitar while recording voice with an SM57. Very little vocal bleed through on the e70 with the cardioid capsule. The e70 does a nice job of representing the guitar. For $ getting a sound this clean and true is a steal. 5 |

After doing much research I settled on buying 2 of these. I had done some previous recording with 2 SM57's, but the SM81's have a flatter sound. I have only used these to record trumpet, but they sound is great and handles the loud sound and quick response very well. I also bought a Fathead Cascade to put right at my bell, and I personally like that sound better when I'm running only one mic. The 81's are going to sound great in the hall though. I do wish that they made one box for two mics. 5 |

I use the SM57 for recording guitar amps, speakers in isolation cabinets and snare drums. Excellent construction and performance and Shure has kept the price at $99 for as long as I can remember. An excellent tool for recording. 5 |
