Needed it to recover data from 2 Mac laptop drives (a 2018 Mac AIr and 2019 Mac pro). It read both drives with no problem. Just remember that you will be able to see the files but you need to change the permission on each file before you actually can move or open the files. That is a Mac thing. 5 |

This drive provides compact external storage for my Mac. I have three of them--two copies of files that I don't keep on my computer, and one for Time Machine. The oldest one I have is now two years old and hasn't skipped a beat, so I am happy with their reliability. These drives are a good value and provide the additional storage that I need. Transfer speeds are good, though I wouldn't edit video from them or anything like that. 5 |

My external hard drive arrived when expected and in great condition (packaging). It was a little heavier than the Seagate I have, but that's ok. It won't be moved from office. I ordered this large drive for my fiance's laptop, to use as a backup for important files, and to store excess files not being used but once in a while. I needed the 1.5TB because of audio recording files, which are very large and almost wiped out the laptop's small hard drive space. It was a very easy setup, no problems. I was delightfully surprised that I didn't have to deal with WD software telling me what to do, how to setup for backups, etc. I wanted to have full control, and that's what I got. I'm very happy with my purchase, so far. Haven't had for more than a couple weeks, so we'll see how it goes. First WD purchase. 5 |
