I've been reading all of the reviews about this unit. There is nothing like trying it out for yourself. I put rechargeable Duracell NiMH 1.2V/2400mAh batteries in it. I bought the batteries from @. The recycle time is so fast that I can't even count the time that it takes to recycle. It's so fast I can't believe it. I shot it at a distance of 8 feet away from a subject. I am astonished at how fast this unit is with 8 batteries in the compartment. I was so pleased that I bought another one. I can't see how any other unit can get faster than instant. I shoot for some really high end jobs and I've been shooting as long as B&H has been in business & beyond. Don't listen to anyone that says this unit isn't at the top of it's game! I'm buying 2 more. That's how much I shoot at a job. I really need 6. I shoot at full power often.I use a soft box on my SB-900 it takes full power to cover a large group.

I’ve used Nikon speed lights for years, but there are some times when they just don’t recycle fast enough and shots are missed, plus having to swap batteries out during weddings is not good. First time buying strobe lights but after one real shoot, they performed as expected, being able to have them plugged in and know I don’t have to worry about batteries dying is a big plus. Also recycle time allows multiple shots now which is very helpful. These will come in handy in location shoots for sure. Only downsides so far, the whole kit is a bit heavy, will take an extra trip to load and setup for photo shoots. And the camera control is only rechargeable (via usb), not sure what I’ll do at an 8 hour wedding when the battery dies on it. After 2 hours the charge indicator was down 1 bar. So that’s my biggest worry, but I’m sure it will work fine. Otherwise, built solid enough, and works as designed, so I’m happy.

I got this pack in hopes of having faster recycle times and fore flashes without battery changes. I have been pleased to get both. Initial recycle times have been super fast. I hope that this continues as my batteries age (used a new set in this pack). I have yet to fully test the number of flashes before replacing batteries, but anticipate a good result.
