Red Samsung Digital Camera

I use this Pelican Storm iM2500 case to store my RED ONE digital cinema camera and a few accessories. It's a tight fit, but everything is well protected and nothing shifts around. I love the secure-yet-easy-to-use latches, and the bright yellow color stands out in a sea of black cases. The best part? It can be taken as a carry-on bag on an airplane. I wish it weighed a bit less, but the protection it offers is unbeatable, so I can't complain.

Bought this to connect my Samsung TL350 digital camera to my HDTV Set. Works fine. Does what it's supposed to do. Strong construction. All good.

I am primarily a cinematographer, so when I bought this I had in mind its potential use as a lens for super 35 format digital cinema cameras like the Sony F3 and Red Epic. Although not absolutely ideal for this purpose, it is a viable and less costly alternative to the more expensive Arri Compact Primes and other purpose built cinematography lenses. Optically, there is no question that this a superb piece of glass, delivering the latest Nikon technology in aspherical design, anti-flare coating, and superior MTF. For use with the F3 there is one drawback, which is the lack of a manual iris ring. This requires that the lens adaptor have some kind of device built in to accomodate iris control, and I understand that one is in the works. However, systems like the Red Epic have the potential for controling the iris, using the autofocus, and recording meta data from the lens as part of their new lens interface system. If it works as well in practice as it does on their web videos, this lens could be a fantastic, economical compliment to a cinematographer's tool kit. As a footnote, for use in still photography, this really needs to be paired with a full frame digital still camera, otherwise you are really not getting the full wide angle impact.
