Reliable Mechanical Pencils

Is very smooth and the pencils glides very quickly.

Seems to be reliable so far. An easy drop-in replacement that saves energy (over a mechanical HDD), runs cool and works reliably. I have many SSDs dating back 4 years, and none of them have failed. In the same period, a handful of mechanical drives have failed suddenly and unexpectedly. Ive been replacing them with these SSD drives and watching the case temperatures plummet and the electricity wattage consumed on my Kill-A-Watt P3 going down. Sandisk has a reliable track history, so I have good expectations about this drives reliability.

These drives have been reliable in general and competitively priced at B&H. Knowing that everything mechanical can fail, it's nice to know that I have B&H behind me as well as the manufacturer's warranty.

I'm not devoted to any particular brand of mechanical HDD; over many years I've had reliable service from a wide variety of Seagate and WD drives. The lower tier OEM drives installed in pre-built mass market computers tend to have slower read/write speeds, which can be annoying. This Seagate NAS HDD, which is definitely not lower tier, is quiet, reliable, and delivers about 220 MB/Sec.

Very simple to sync. Just as good as other top rated pencils.

The best mechanical hard drive I had ever used.

I purchased both the 10mm and 11mm Artisans and found the 11mm definitely sharper when comparing lettering at 400% on a calendar in a room shot, however at 4 inches the 10mm was amazing. Purely by accident while shooting tests with the 10mm with the Lumix S1r I focused the camera on a pad of paper I had written notes on in pencil. Along side of the pad were 8 or so new Dixon pencils with gold stamped lettering all sitting on a dining room table cluttered with computers etc. At f8 with the lens so close the background dropped beautifully, but what astounded me was the detail of the lead pencil writing on the paper the the gold leaf stamping on the pencils. Photo had Color, contrast and even a bit of micro detail in the paper texture and writing. Based on this and other tests, this is a great lens for very closeup experimental work. Colors are accurate and vibrant. Lens is seemingly well corrected for this type of work with Capture one correcting purple fringes. For room shots and sharpness stick with 11mm unless you need the extra angle.

I love this headphone stand. Plenty of room atop the stand for my cup of pens and pencils, while still holding the headphones. Great solution for a cramped desktop. Solid. Recommended.

I have just begun to use this paper and it seems to be of good quality. I am using it for black and white prints and have begun to color in it with marshall color pencils. It seems t hold the color in well although it does not get the same quality that agfa papers that I used for enlarging in the darkroom did. Still, a good quality paper and the colors look good on them.
