I own a nanoFlash, an Odyssey 7Q, and this 7Q+. I use the latter with an A7s and a PXW-X70, neither of which capture internally when sending a signal out via HDMI, so I attach the nano to the 7Q+ via HD-SDI for redundancy. (If I select camera-trigger, my Sony remote turns REC on for all three devices at once.) Its sturdy and durable. Twice the 7Q+ was pulled out of its camera shoe and fell 4' to a rough hard surface that would probably have destroyed the camera, but the 7Q+ got only a faint surface scratch on its casing. I use the 7Q with my FS100 or a rental FS700 to shoot HFR or RAW. At 7.7 1280x800 provides such a very crisp image it's all the resolution I need to frame and focus, and I like the layout of controls and the codecs Odyssey offers. Why learn another unit's protocols and layout? But I picked the 7Q+ over the other unit specifically for the high quality customer support and technical service Convergent Design has always provided. They are so accessible that they seem like friends working as remote crew. Other reviewers' poor experience is definitely not typical. 5 |

It fits well with my 2016 Subaru Outback. I think all the car manufacturers should consider their dashboard design leaving a small room for the customers to mount extra 3rd part vendor add-ons. Some dashboard is so unfriendly especially if you want to connect the cable to charge your devices. 5 |

Other than a jack, this compact jump starter is the number one item every car should have in it. Completely discharged my battery overnight, hot the"boost" and the car turned over immediately. 5 |

Though the year of this review says, 2016, I bought this remote a year or two ago from B&H. Works great and is just the thing for being in a family photo, or for other purposes where one doesn't want to be behind or right at the camera. I attached a small piece of Velcro to the receiver and another piece of Velcro to my tripod. The receiver with its curly cord sticks to the tripod. Keeps the receiver out of the way and safe from damage. 5 |
