You can't argue with two batteries. I had a small heart attack while removing the battery door on my brand new body to make this work, but it's actually really easy (see YouTube). It's really easy to store that piece on this device too. I love the vertical grip, so this was a must-have. The two batteries were a bonus.

I had a competing brand last summer that I destroyed over the winter by not removing the batteries. Frankly, it didn't work all that well. When I went to replace it, the Free Wave Plus was the one available in that price range, so I gambled. Well, I am delighted with it. I needed it for use near the nest of an American Kestrel (small falcon), and the closest I could get to the camera from a vantage point where I could watch the nest, and fire the shutter, was 112 Yards. The literature states the maximum range as 100 yards; it works just great at 112. I couldn't be happier. I may buy another just for a spare.
