Reverse Image Search Application

This is my second C920s webcam. It has great features and a beautiful image. It's basically plug & play right out of the box, with one major exception. I immediately realized that the image is reversed upon plugging the webcam in. Why the default image is reversed kind of blows my mind. There were no directions on how to reverse the image. I went on the Logitech website and searched for a solution. Nada. I searched Google, too. All the solutions were complicated and convoluted. I ended up downloading 2 or 3 programs that didn't solve my problem. Since this is my second C920s, I went back to my first installation of this webcam on my other PC. The image was right on. So, I checked and I have a program called Logitech Capture. I checked its settings, and sure enough, under the Source 1 settings there's an Advanced Settings slider. Sliding that to On opens up another set of settings. One of them is horizontally flip source. Checking that check box flips the image to the proper point of view. Why Logitech would reverse the default image is beyond me. And, why they don't provide instructions on how to flip the image is crazy. Anyway, just downloading this simple (free) program from the Logitech website solves the issue. All is well. I'm very happy with the webcam now.

As you know filters help with image quality during the day. I was in search of filters for my new GoPro Hero 9 and decided to go with the Freewell 4K series. I'm glad I did, they are well built, and do exactly what I bought them for. I would highly recommend. - JM

WD Smartware software. Surprisingly so-so for this cool little device. Not as intuitive or slick as I had expected or read about. This version of Smartware is not very flexible and doesn't include a full system backup( system image)feature. I had to install another application to create a system image ( Luckily WD provides a free copy of an application called Acronis for its customers--however I had to call customer service to learn about this application and be told where to find it on their support page. Automatic backup feature only works while your system is idle.

Great outdoor zoom lens. The zoom is versatile, the IQ is very high. The lens is tested to be less sharp after 200mm. If your photographic application is critical at 300mm you might look at the Nikkor 300mm f/4 or 300mm f/2.8. But my application is general photography and the image quality of this lens is very good, very pleasing, and even at 300mm. I haven't tried the lens for indoor photography. I've been shooting in direct sunlight with a Speedlight 600. The results have been wonderful. I set the flash settings so the flash doesn't overpower the image. I'm actually glad I didn't go for the 300mm prime lens because the zoom is undeniably handy for me. I also shot the Transit of Venus on June 5th, 2012. I used a solar filter (of course), and I was very happy with the results. I used a tripod for stabilization with the lens VR turned off and settings of f/8 at 300mm. I think that was my sharpest, most stable combination. A note about my camera: I have a D7000 and I struggled with it for about a year before taking it in for repair. The autofocus adjustment was significantly out of whack. After the repair my image quality went up and my frustration level with my pictures went down. I only mention it because it's easy to get the idea that Nikon's consumer lenses aren't very good if in fact the camera is out of adjustment. My lenses are all Nikkor: 16-85, 70-300 (this lens being reviewed), 105 f/2.8D, 50mm f1.4D, 85mm f/1.8D, 35mm f/1.8G DX and the 24mm f/2.8D. I was a professional many years ago and I shot mostly in medium and large formats (architectural, industrial, some portrait and PR). My applications are completely different today, mostly family and casual interest photography. Happy shooting!
