Ribbon Tweeter Studio Midfield Monitors

Fantastic for the studio monitors.

As a small phoo studio we occasionally offer prints on-site and paper and ribbon set for the canon Salphy produce a great quality print, and according to Canon, they will last 100 years.

My studio has many mics but I didn't have a ribbon mic. Given the low price I wasn't expecting the quality of this mic. I used it to record the vocals for a grunge/punk band in studio that week. The mic has a transparent flat response and I didn't get the harsh ss's I often get from expensive condenser mics. I used the inexpensive Studio projects VTB1 preamp on a no tube setting, and was very impressed with the quietness and quality of the recording.

I like the way these studio monitors sound. I purchased several pairs.

I've been using them for well over a month, at this point, and I can confidently say that they are very much worth every penny. My favorite room/speaker combination for mixing is the NRG Studios with the midfield speakers. My second favorite is Archon Studios (again on midfield). The SUV is really good for a different/troublesome listening environment. Lastly, the Howie Weinberg Mastering Room is really good for finding honky frequencies, particularly in dialog. My first music mix was greeted by my bandmates with the first comment that they could hear the bass better than any of our previous demo mixes. For the cost of the headphones at the highest level, you can't even come close to competing with buying pro-sumer monitors and acoustic treatment. I'll take it a step further and point out that, if you're like us and can't really afford a studio space that's completely sound treated, or you have multiple machines running in your room (NAS, servers, hard drives, etc.) the amount of money you would spend to accomodate all of that and get an excellent listening environment is going to be a 5-figure investment, easily, if not more. For a few hundred $$$ the headphones will get you everything you need, plus the amazing portability of being able to mix anywhere you can take your laptop and interface. The Slate VSX Headphones are certainly a game changer that can benefit anyone in the audio realm.

I already was using some of these for monitors in my studio, but I find them really useful for miscellaneous use such as a table for a laptop.

These are great Studio Monitors and can be used for entertainment purposes too. I have used them during tracking sessions in the studio, they are comfortable and sound just as good or better than other headphones in this price range. And the replaceable cables make it a really sweet deal.
