I had been using rice, and the poly beads were about half weight.

Good deal for a battery. Half the rice as Fumi's.

The perfect alternative when you don't have your tripod or cannot use one. You just fill it with buckwheat hulls or rice and you're good to go.

I thought I would give the Hahnemuhle FineArt paper a shot on my new Canon Pixma Pro-10 and I am sure glad I did. This sample pack is a great way to try out the different kinds of paper Hahnemuhle offers, before spending a lot of money on a full package of paper. The PhotoRag Bright White is slick looking and probably my favorite one of the bunch. Color photos really pop on it. The rice paper is probably my least favorite, but I think it has more to do with finding the right type of photo to print on it than the paper itself. The photos I tried on rice paper came out a little flatter than I would have liked. That said, I'm sure with some more playing I could find a way to make it work for certain photos. Also try the other Matte & Glossy sample packs from Hahnemuhle as well. Equally great papers!

So far I have tried 3 prints on 3 separate types of paper in this sample pack and have been blown away. I worked on some fine art portraits that were well suited to the natural fibers of the paper and they are stunning. The Rice paper is very thin, almost like a typing paper. At first I was apprehensive thinking that the ink would ripple the paper, but after 2 days it has proven to lay flat. I'm not sure what type of framing treatment would work best with the look, but the print itself is SHARP and very detailed. The Bamboo holds incredible and is very rigid paper. The feel and texture are a dream for people who appreciate tactile qualities of real prints. The Book paper is whiter than the Rice and Bamboo but still has a firm feel with a nice tooth. Looking forward to trying the rest. Not disappointed so far. (I did download the ICC profiles from Hahnemuhle. Worked perfectly.)

Nice sample pack if you're looking for a variety of Photo Rag papers. The rice paper is an interesting addition, but nice to see how it compares to the thicker papers!
