I bought this head for a special project where a low profile was necessary while being rock solid for critical focusing. All the controls are silky smooth and once locked in are very solid. The head itself is lightweight, which is an added bonus when needing to use out in the field and fast to set up and then lock in place. 5 |

Rock solid and relatively lightweight ball head. I use it on my travel tripod. I love the simplified controls of this head. No knobs to end up facing backwards, or get in the way of setting up quickly for shots. I find this essential for travel and landscape photography. Accompanying pieces in my travel tripod setup: Legs: Sirui T-1205x Clamp: Really Right Stuff B2-LR 40 M6 To mount the RRS clamp, you have to removing the permanent center bolt - you'll nee a 7/16 ratchet for this. For me, it took about one minute and was way easier than other web tutorials had led me to believe. Recommended. 5 |
