I use this on my new Panasonic UX180 to connect my Rode mic to the camera. Perfect. 5 |

Bought this mic to try out after returning my Rode Video Mic Go, which i was rather unhappy with. I use it for these documentary pieces where i usually interview the person that stands about 3 to 6 feet away from me with the mic pointed into that direction. So far? this VideoMicro has exceeded my expectations. In my opinion, better performance than the GO. Not having to worry about the battery is awesome. Just plug it into your camera and go! Great build. Doesn't feel as fragile as i thought it would with the retail price i bought it at. Also comes with a windshield! which is great that you don't have to purchase it separately. Cons? haven't figured out too many as of yet. I'm on my 3rd interview with it and so far, so good...i mean. It does what it says. I'ma happy with it for now. It's better than the built in camera mic. 5 |

I used to use the Rode+ Mic for my R5 and R5C, and while the R5 can't support this, it makes me wish it could. The Canon DM-E1D is perfect for the R5C. You don't need cables or any extra setup. As soon as your camera turns on, so does the mic. Pressing the rear Menu button on the mic itself brings up your cameras integrated menu for audio. Feels like it's part of the camera rather than an attachment! The build quality is solid and does not feel cheap (it better not for this price). The audio quality (from just the naked ear) versus the Rode is not better, not worse. That's fine for me as my primary reason for purchase was the integration with the camera and ridding cables. 5 |

For the price point, the RODE VideoMicro is a solid on-camera mic for capturing clear, quality audio whether for a scratch track or use in your video. It also is of the highest quality in construction - solidly built. But, what makes this such a solid piece of gear is that it has such sound quality that it can double as a small boom mic when paired with RODE's extension cable... so, you Beginner Filmmakers... save yourself some money and invest in this versatile microphone! HIGHLY Recommend!!! 5 |
