Rode Microphone Cutting Out

used on a Rode microphone-very little signal loss.

i don't normally write reviews for anything, but this mic is an exception. i used to have a RODE shotgun that got damaged and was looking for a replacement. i also use a sure 839 lav and have worked with the sennheisers, but i can't always manage to set them up in run and guns. i got this b/c it was cheap and got decent reviews. put it on for a recent project and OMG. it's amazing. clear, very focused and realistic sound. not as crispy or compressed sounding as the RODE, but to my ears that's a good thing. did an interview and used this instead of the lav (shooting w/ an af-100). filmed my wife cutting onions and was disoriented on playback...it sounded so realistic, i thought she was cutting onions again. would make a great foley or boom mic. my background's in music, so i'm familiar with great mics...neumann, shure, etc. this one's a keeper.

I like this microphone. I use it with the Rode Wireless system and I'm happy with the result.

I used it to record video on iphone with Rode microphone. It works as described.

Out of the box I could not get the mic to charge. Researching this I found I needed to download the RODE Central software in order to update the firmware. Once I did that, it charged and worked as described. I love that all you need to do is turn it on and it auto connects. The mic 'square' is bulky and kind of an eye sore if you clip just that onto the person speaking. However, you can plug a lapel mic into. I have not tested the exact distance this has, but for what I do (I stay within 5-30 feet of the speaker) it has worked great. For an easy-to-use system that works, I highly recommend. I primarily do in-house training videos so the audio quality is sufficient for me. I wish it had a better noise canceling effect (since I usually film on a loud manufacturing floor) but I can hear the speaker in even the loudest areas in the plant.

Put on the Rode NTG2 anytime I record outside. Does a great job cutting wind while maintaining clarity.

Rather getting cheap Chinese shotgun microphone. it is better to spend more and get the Rode Microphone. Good Audio Quality with the Wind Dead cat it is perfect to start with

I use the microphone adapter with the hero 5 often with the Rode Microphone to make videos. This product is great asset to my videography pursuits.

used to plug a Rode microphone into a Zoom h4n. Worked perfectly.
