Rode Microphone Iphone Lightning

In order to use my old iPhone 5c with the Rode Micro microphone, this cable was necessary. I adapted it to my iPhone 7 lightning port as a test and it didn't work. I didn't investigate because the plan was to use the mic with the old phone anyway, so it might have worked and could have been my set up.

A must-have to connect to your iPhone 7, 8, & X. In my case my 6-month old Apple Lightning to headphone adapter didn't work; once I replaced it with a new one this Rode cable worked properly. BONUS: Check out the Rode SC6 to add a headphone output to the input chain!

The *one* missing item from your Rode Wireless Go II; allows for lightning-based devices such as iPhone and iPad to not only use it as an external mic but also to set different software options in the app.

Used this plug (USB C to lightning) to go from Rode Wireless 2 Go to iPhone for in-phone recording of audio/dialog. 100 percent necessary in your setup. It leaves the 3.5 output on the Rode Wireless for headphone monitoring and it's actually better to have your audio going through USB C to lightning.

Works perfectly with my iPhone 13 Pro and Rode Videomic Pro microphone.

I’ve been looking for a way to get my Rode microphone to work on my iPhone for quite some time. This was the first cable that actually did the trick.

Is a great directional Microphone especially in nosier environments. The lightning jack is not very long and most iphone case users will find that they will either need to remove their cases or modify them.

If you have an Apple Lightning to USB 3.0 Type-A Camera Adapter you can connect this device into the USB Type-A slot, then connect a 3.5mm audio cable from a microphone (such as the Sennheiser EW G4 wireless lavalier system) to pipe the external microphone's audio directly into your iPhone. Excellent for the convenience of having good quality audio for your iPhone interviews or vlogging. I was skeptical that this setup would work, but it certainly does work. I'd recommend this device if you're trying to do something like what I described. Should work well with laptops too, but I haven't tried that.
