These Rode M5 compact microphones are way more than awesome!! They are not what I expected but they were much much more. I just received them last week and have already used them on a filming job of a choir. When I did a run thru very first time with the choir last Thursday I had my headphones on just making the necessary audio adjustments and my other videographer on camera #2 looked at me from across the room where he was running his camera and said Looks like you are happy about something!! I bet it's those new Rode mics!! Never seen you with a smile like that in a long time!!! I just gave him a thumbs up and was totally way overwhelmed. The sound is what I would expect from a $2,000 plus microphone. Anyway, this is a MUST BUY and you probably better buy quickly from B&H because the pricing on this won't stay this cheap for long.

Initially, I purchased a Deity V – Mic D3 Pro microphone. It’s a decent microphone much better than the in camera microphones however, it’s very noisy. After filming about five football games, I decided to upgrade to the Rode microphone. One of the biggest reasons that I initially purchased it was it will turn on when you turn your camera on and turn off when you turn your camera off. On two occasions, I had forgotten to turn off my Deity mic so when I turned it back on the battery was dead. The auto on off with the.Rode microphone was worth the purchase however, this microphone has the best sound out of all the microphones I’ve tried. I highly recommend you try one of these before you go to anything else.. this microphone is very quiet. You can get rid of superfluous noise and it has a lot of features on it that Mike in this price range do not. Give it a try and if you don’t like it, BNH will take it back. They have a great policy also. Good job BNH.

I have tried several different on-camera microphones (Rode VideoMicro, MXL, Sennheiser) and they all sounded awful because of the weak mic output level. The VideoMic Pro actually works because it has a switch that will give you a 20dB boost of the mic's output. This hotter signal from the mic allows you to turn down the noisy preamp on your camera and essentially lower the preamp hiss.

I own a number of Rode microphones and have been looking for something between the Rode Video Micro and the Rode NTG line. I wanted something with a small footprint and lightweight to use with the Rode Micro Boom Pole Pro but that could also serve as an on camera microphone. The VideoMic Go II fits the bill. It sounds amazing and allows me to boom in small/ tight areas while also giving me a good mic on camera for scratch audio.

It is so easy to use, and the quality of the recordings is fantastic. I have used it with Rode and Sanken microphones.

Sounds just as good as the microphones that come with the Rode Mics. Got it on a deal of the day - worth it!!

I use this in my Rode blimp with Line Audio CM3 microphones in a wide ORTF array. It fits very snug and cuts down on cable clutter. highly recommended for anyone looking for low profile cables for stereo blimp rigs.

Bought these to save some money on shockmounts for my Rode NT5 pair and the Auray ones work really well and hold the microphones in secure. Highly recommend these

I have a good size collection of microphones. When I need to record dialog in video, there is nothing better than my RODE NTG-2. I even prefer it over a lavaliere. The AA battery is nice (less expensive than those fancy batteries) when no phantom power is available. I use it with a pop screen, dead cat, and shock mount.
