Rode Smartlav+ Lapel Microphone For Smart Phones

I needed a way to connect my Rode SmartLav+ microphone, which is designed for smart phones, to my Canon DSLR. The SC3 adapter worked perfectly. It's simple to use. Just plug the adapter into the camera microphone jack and the microphone into the adapter. The audio recorded was loud and clear and better than the shotgun mic that I was using. If I have any concerns it's that the cable seems very thin. It shouldn't be a problem since there's little stress while using the cable and it seems well reinforced at the connectors.

I have both a SmartLav and a Rode Lavalier, and these have been indispensable.

Whether you have bought the Rode Smartlav+, the regular (but good) Rode Lavalier microphone, or the Rodelink kit for your DSLR, it is just too easy to lose or destroy the WS-Lav when switching out for the fluffy or whatever. It does work in reducing any pops etc., so having an extra one along should be standard. Works well, just be careful not to mistreat it - or lose it in the tall grass!

I bought a I bought a Rode smartLav+  Lavalier Condenser Microphone for Smartphones and this plug was needed to connect the microphone to the smartphone. (I believe these plugs come with the Smart phones but who can remember where you put it?) Just buy it and make your life simpler. Recommend both of these items together. Great for video posts. Great Extension cable for the Rode smartLav+!

This is necessary if you want to use the rode smartlav with anything other than a smartphone. Nice that they made this and not expensive.

This allows me to use the Rode Smartlav+ with my digital camera and works great.

The LC-1 Lapel Clip, available from B&H, is the original that comes with the Azden lapel microphone, but is not avaible from Azden. The clips are designed well but may still be subject to breakage if talent tries to snap the microphone on or off the clip rather than sliding it.

Had no problems with it. I have both the handheld microphone and the lapel microphone and they both fit well and securely!

I bought this due to the backorder on the RODE smartLav. Tired of waiting....after some research I bought this and a TRRS to two(2) 3.5mm splitter. I downloaded the RODE app plugged everything in and it worked great! Cheaper than the smartLav and based on my researh the TRRS gives the ME-52W Exciter Power for better pickup. I used this with the RODE Rec App on both my 3rd Gen iPod Touch and my iPad Mini. Also with the splitter I am able to monitor the audio. That's a bonus the smartLav won't give ya.
