Rode Smartlav+ Lavalier Microphone To Dslr Camera

I have both a SmartLav and a Rode Lavalier, and these have been indispensable.

Whether you have bought the Rode Smartlav+, the regular (but good) Rode Lavalier microphone, or the Rodelink kit for your DSLR, it is just too easy to lose or destroy the WS-Lav when switching out for the fluffy or whatever. It does work in reducing any pops etc., so having an extra one along should be standard. Works well, just be careful not to mistreat it - or lose it in the tall grass!

I bought a I bought a Rode smartLav+  Lavalier Condenser Microphone for Smartphones and this plug was needed to connect the microphone to the smartphone. (I believe these plugs come with the Smart phones but who can remember where you put it?) Just buy it and make your life simpler. Recommend both of these items together. Great for video posts. This is an essential in my audio tools. I utilize this with the RODE smartLav and a TASCAM DR-05 Recorder as a wireless lavalier when I am on a shoot. About $ for the RODE smartLav, $ for the RODE SC3 adapter, and I picked up the TASCAM DR-05 for $ after a nice rebate. Wireless lavalier mic with recorder for less than $? Yes please! This allows me to use the Rode Smartlav+ with my digital camera and works great.

Perfect adaptor to go from my DSLR, to the 20' extension, to the Rode smartlav. Listening to the audio live is great for on the go interviews.

I needed a way to connect my Rode SmartLav+ microphone, which is designed for smart phones, to my Canon DSLR. The SC3 adapter worked perfectly. It's simple to use. Just plug the adapter into the camera microphone jack and the microphone into the adapter. The audio recorded was loud and clear and better than the shotgun mic that I was using. If I have any concerns it's that the cable seems very thin. It shouldn't be a problem since there's little stress while using the cable and it seems well reinforced at the connectors.

This is necessary if you want to use the rode smartlav with anything other than a smartphone. Nice that they made this and not expensive.

I am using the Rode VXLR+ to connect an inexpensive plug-in-power (condenser) lavalier microphone (with male TRS jack) to my (female XLR) microphone pre-amp on a desktop mixer. The main objective was to circumvent the built in mic on my laptop when I am on web meetings. All I can say is Wow! Everyone says I sound crisp, clear, loud without distortion, and there is no external distracting noise coming through. I used this setup to make a recording of my voice and I was floored.
