Rode Smr Microphone Stand

Very stable when used with the Rode NT1 microphone assembled on the SMR shock mount. Despite not being heavy, the base is long enough towards the front to prevent the assembly from tipping forward.

I am a voice over artist from the Dallas area. I bought this microphone for my home studio where I record professional works, as well as practice. The first thing I noticed on this microphone was the build quality. Compared to previous Rode mics, the NT1 has a quality weight to it that really speaks for its durability. The black ceramic finish is cool to the touch and looks very sleek. Coupled with the SMR shockmount, the NT1 microphone is a sleek, sexy looking microphone that performs as well as it looks. The audio from this microphone is amazing, providing crisp and clear audio from any source you're recording. The Rode NT1 provides a unique sound; with bright highs, solids mids, and warm lows, it covers the whole spectrum and sounds very natural. My only two complaints both come from the new SMR shockmount. 1. The included pop filter, though very sleek, is not always effective. It does a fantastic job about 95% of the time, but occasionally some breath can get through, especially if you are doing an excited voice over. 2. The SMR shockmount is EXTREMELY effective and offers amazing external noise isolation with the Rycote Lyre suspension system. However, it lacks the ability to swivel left or right, which if you are trying to work in smaller quarters, may prove unwieldy. I myself have space to work with, so it really isn't a big issue, but it is something you should consider. Ultimately, even with these two gripes, this set up is still absolutely amazing. The deal you get here is astonishing and offers up professional studio sound quality.

This thing is a tank.  I was looking for a desk stand for my Rode NT1 microphone and was worried about the weight tipping it over.  With the extra counter balance and heavier stand, this stand holds it perfectly.  I can extend it all the way out.  Very sturdy and well made. I would highly recommend.

I needed to mount a Rode microphone to a light stand to record audience questions, and this cold shoe screwed directly onto the stand. I love how I can only install the mounted device in one direction so that it doesn't slide out the other end.

This microphone stand is sturdy and is perfect for my Rode Podmic. I was concerned but I am glad I purchased this stand, worth the money. Stable product.

In the entertainment business, I regularly have 3 to 5 Video meetings per day, so I began upgrading my a/v equipment. People mentioned a hissing sound from my laptop mic, so I ordered the Rode NT-USB Microphone. It's a great mic, but I wasn't happy with the plastic stand that came with it as I had to put it next to my laptop, which interfered with viewing my external monitor. So I ordered the Auray TT-6220 Telescoping Tabletop Microphone Stand to move the mic above the laptop screen. The stand is well built and much heavier than expected, which is good for stability. It raises the mic high enough to place the stand behind my laptop screen so it's not in the way of it or my external monitor. At the same time, I ordered the Auray Shockmount for Rode Podcast Mics and Mics with M20 Thread to hold the mic and eliminate vibration from the desk. Together with the stand, they work flawlessly! I've recently ordered the Auray RF-PBO-16 Premium Reflection Filter partly for background noise reduction, but also to counter balance the mic.

I ordered the Rode Podcaster microphone for mainly podcasting and radio interviews to be recorded at home. With the offer of the Kit that B & H offered it just made life easy for me. The mic stand by Auray is excellent, not just good. In fact, it seemed stronger than the Rode mic stand equivalent that I could have bought separately. I am so happy with this purchase and will continue to look to B & H for these kinds of Kits which are well thought out!
