The Rode VideoMicro microphone is a great addition to any mobile video kit. The directional mic does really well with picking up your subject and filtering out ambient noise. The boom pole that comes with this kit is lightweight yet sturdy and is a great addition to the mobile kit. The cable that comes with the kit allows you to use the mic with the boompole. The cable works for cameras, but not for mobile phones. 5 |

I bought the Rode Videomicro to use as an external microphone for my GoPro Hero 4+ Silver. It is an excellent mic at picking up sounds and voices directly in front of it; which is expected being a shotgun style. I highly recommend this microphone. 5 |

I bought this product as a bundle deal with the Rode NTG2 Microphone to be used on top of a DSLR for run and gun audio when I don't have time for an external audio recorder. It works as described. You plug in the XLR to the mic, the other end goes right into your DSLR. Build quality is solid, it doesn't feel cheap at all. 5 |

For the price point, the RODE VideoMicro is a solid on-camera mic for capturing clear, quality audio whether for a scratch track or use in your video. It also is of the highest quality in construction - solidly built. But, what makes this such a solid piece of gear is that it has such sound quality that it can double as a small boom mic when paired with RODE's extension cable... so, you Beginner Filmmakers... save yourself some money and invest in this versatile microphone!
