Rode Videomicro External Microphone

I bought the Rode Videomicro to use as an external microphone for my GoPro Hero 4+ Silver. It is an excellent mic at picking up sounds and voices directly in front of it; which is expected being a shotgun style. I highly recommend this microphone.

I use this adapter to help connect the Rode VideoMicro Ultracompact shotgun microphone to my iPhone 12. Works great.

The Rode VideoMicro microphone is a great addition to any mobile video kit. The directional mic does really well with picking up your subject and filtering out ambient noise. The boom pole that comes with this kit is lightweight yet sturdy and is a great addition to the mobile kit. The cable that comes with the kit allows you to use the mic with the boompole. The cable works for cameras, but not for mobile phones.

Works fine to extend Rode VideoMicro cable for off-camera use.

Just great! I bought one to go on a mic stand so I could attach my Rode VideoMicro to it.

This is my first external microphone for any of my camera gear and WOW. I was a little nervous with the price being so low, but knowing how reliable Rode is with their products and customers I went with my gut and made the purchase. ?Extremely lightweight! (Can't even notice the weight) ?NO batteries! Always running which is great for forgettable people aka me. ?Great quality of sound! So much more rich than the onboard camera mics! THANK YOU RODE!

I rarely make videos, but needed to record my daughter singing audition pieces for college applications. Just dipping my toes in the murky waters of videography, I knew an external mic would be beneficial, but didnt want to spend a fortune. It fit my cameras hotshoe fine (Fujifilm T-T3) and plugs into the 2.5mm microphone port. It comes with a fluffy wind-shield, which I didnt use as I was indoors. It costs about half of Fujifilms own brand external microphone. First step was to do a quick test of the Fujis internal mic versus this one. No question that the Rode made an improvement; mostly because it isolated my daughters voice from the incessant droning of leaf-blowers in my neighborhood (aaaah, suburban paradise!). The audition videos turned out very well, so my first serious foray into video was a positive experience. I can attribute much of this to easily capturing good sound, thanks Rode.

In the entertainment business, I regularly have 3 to 5 Video meetings per day, so I began upgrading my a/v equipment. People mentioned a hissing sound from my laptop mic, so I ordered the Rode NT-USB Microphone. It's a great mic, but I wasn't happy with the plastic stand that came with it as I had to put it next to my laptop, which interfered with viewing my external monitor. So I ordered the Auray TT-6220 Telescoping Tabletop Microphone Stand to move the mic above the laptop screen. The stand is well built and much heavier than expected, which is good for stability. It raises the mic high enough to place the stand behind my laptop screen so it's not in the way of it or my external monitor. At the same time, I ordered the Auray Shockmount for Rode Podcast Mics and Mics with M20 Thread to hold the mic and eliminate vibration from the desk. Together with the stand, they work flawlessly! I've recently ordered the Auray RF-PBO-16 Premium Reflection Filter partly for background noise reduction, but also to counter balance the mic.
