Rps Clear Backpack Policy

This filter is my 'insurance policy' for my 70-200mm, it never comes off, and doesn't need to...super-clear, super easy to clean...no regrets regarding this purchase.

The RPS Lighting Locking Accessory Shoe (cold shoe) has a lot of names on the packaging. The shoe itself is stamped NiceFoto. The package has a brand name dlc and model number RS-3118, on the back of the package: Marketed by Dot Line Corp, but sold on B&H by RPS Lighting. I'm saying all this because I'm trying to place an additional order for more of these cold shoes and now I finally found this one again, so I can order more. I have a long bitter history of bad cold shoes. Either they are not really cold (i.e. they short-out the contacts of the flash), or the flash can't get a good grip on the shoe and there are flashes falling to the ground (and ending up in pieces). A couple extra bucks for a good quality cold shoe will save many hundreds of dollars in damaged equipment, and give you the confidence to use your off-camera flash effectively. The RPS/dlc/DotLine RS-3118 Locking Accessory Shoe fits the flash (or PocketWizard) shoe very firmly, and has a very positive secure tab that snaps into place, locking the flash into the shoe. When it comes time to release the flash (or the PocketWizard that protrudes backwards over the locking tab), just press the button on the *side* of this cold shoe and it releases very smoothly. You don't have to directly squeeze the locking tab itself, just press the release button on the side where it's much more easily accessible. It's made of plastic, but feels quite strong. You wouldn't want a cold shoe that wasn't made of plastic, would you? The cold shoe attaches directly to your lightstand or to a mini-ballhead on your lightstand (I recommend Oben BD-0, but there are other mini-ballheads out there) with a 1/4 inch thread and you don't need any tools to screw-in the cold-shoe, just thread it directly onto the 1/4 inch stud. It's simple, fast, secure, easy to put equipment onto and take off-of. Just a great little product.

I bought the RPS as part of a two tier redundancy structure for my Ubiquiti UniFi home network /security deployment. Quality build and when called to service does so without even a blip in network ops. Smoothly integrated with gateway / NVR / switches in look and feel. UniFi management software operates collection of consoles seemlessly. I highly recommend the Ubiquiti line and B&H distribution is icing on the cake.

The cost of this policy was reasonable, but I won't know whether the policy is great unless I need to use it.
