Sabrent External Hard Drive Enclosure

This 2TB P3 NVME drive is great. It's being used in a Sabrent NVME enclosure as an external backup drive for a Mac M2. I have five other P4 NVMEs (four are Crucial brand) but I went with their slower P3 for use as simply a backup drive. I'm very pleased and the price certainly hits my sweet spot. Used this drive in an Avastor HDX Pro external Hard Drive Enclosure. It was easy to install and format and has worked very well for the past three weeks at least. Am currently using it for video files with no issues.

I purchased the Sabrent SSD Enclosure and it was one of my top 2 choices. The heaviness of the item is a turn-off to some, but for me-- I wanted the security of the device to protect my M.2 which became a back up drive. So I didn't want something flimsy. The Sabrent has built in cloning software (that costs about $20-25, so it's a real plus) and it worked LIKE.A.CHARM. Tops. Outstanding. Within 15-20 minutes, I had cloned my machine's C drive, then I popped the card out, put the new one in my machine and put the former M.2 in this enclosure. It's fantastic, and has all the needed cords, and screws (EXCEPT of course does not have a screw to install a new M.2 in your computer, if that's something you're doing. That's sold separately and pesky to find, if you don't know exactly what you're looking for. I got one at a hardware store surprisingly). This enclosure is first class and I'm a true believer in the Sabrent quality now. Five stars. Great service by B&H as well.

This is my third Storejet enclosure. It's an easy way to take a hard drive from a laptop destined for recycling and repurposing the drive as an external USB drive.

Perfect for replacing a hard drive but still wanting to use the old one. My external hard drive broke but luckily it was the enclosure that was damaged so I removed the hard drive from the enclosure and got this adapter to be able to continue using the hard drive

I had an old 3.5 WD external hard drive that only had a USB 2.0 connector. I bought the Sabrent enclosure so I could use USB 3.0 instead. Once I removed the hard drive it was easy to install it in this new enclosure. You need to pay attention to the instructions and angle the drive to properly seat it into the SATA connector. I haven't tried removing it, but I don't need to. This enclosure uses a power plug. It's not bus powered. I do like that there's an on/off switch. Overall, what else can I say? It's a simple solution that works. I'll definitely be buying more of these.

Using the enclosure for external drive on MacBook Pro 13 unibody. Wanted the Firewire 800 speed for an external bootable drive. Found it best to follow instructions of NOT screwing the hard drive down to the heat sink(even though there were enough screws in the package to do so). As it turned out two of the drives I was using were bad so it was easy to just open the end-cap and slide the I/O board with hard drive out to replace then slide it back in. The two end-caps (one permanent the other has screws to hold it in place) hold parts inside fairly well with a 2.5 5400 rpm SATA hard drive. This case is not intended to be water-proof, shock-proof or dust-proof etc. Just an enclosure for an external hard drive best used laying flat and still. Happy with the fact that package includes USB 2 to USB 3 cable as well as Firewire 800 cable. device is capable of daisy-chaining Fireire 800 devices since it has two ports. Included is a pleather carrying case. Has a tiny on-off switch. Case is see-through clear plastic with reasonably thick construction. The blue LED when turned on is a good visual cue not to shake or move the enclosure as the hard-drive is on and spinning. Careful not to tighten side screws to hold the end-cap in place is they may strip or crack the plastic piece.

I bought this to use as an external HD for my Mac Pro 2019 and placed it in a Sabrent tool-less aluminum enclosure. Transferred 400 GB of photos over to it in a very short time. Got mildly warm during transfer, pretty normal. No issue. I trust Samsung memory to be reliable, I've never had a problem with any of their solid State drives and I have many.

I’ve been very happy with this drive over the past few months. The price per TB was great, and with a Sabrent enclosure I’ve gotten good read / write speeds. Previously I’ve bought a bunch of assorted external drives from WD, Seagate, LaCie, and G-Technology, but moving forward I may try to switch over to these for long term backups. The 8TB is a good sweet spot for me in terms of how much data I can back up, and it also tends to be the best price / TB across a lot of brands, plus it’s still affordable enough that you’re not wringing your hands agonizing over whether you should get a new drive when your old one is almost full.
