On my mac mini 2018 with a 4k monitor, I swapped an HDMI to HDMI cable with this thunderbolt to displayport cable. Huge difference! Before, the entire display was sluggish and unresponsive. Now, the picture is sharp, and the UI is smooth and responsive.

Just purchased 2019 MacBook Pro, i9 2.4GHz CPU, 2TB SSD, 32GB RAM, Pro Vega 20 GPU. Upgraded to Catalina. Purchased usb-c to display port cable for 4K - tested and worked to get 4K resolution on this monitor. Purchased thunderbolt 3 to thunderbolt 3 cable rated at 40GB, 100W, 5K @ 60Hz - worked to get 5K resolution on this monitor. Purchased two other usb-c cables rated at 20GB and both failed to transmit video/audio to this monitor. Make sure you use a thunderbolt 3 cable that has the appropriate power and bandwidth rating to transmit 5K resolution on this monitor.

I bought this monitor as I needed a replacement for my ageing Apple Thunderbolt display. I researched about half a year on a variety of monitors from all the leading brands, but was dismayed by the lack of features, connectivity, a true 4K resolution or the build quality. I am a graphic designer and I need a monitor with a full color gamut, and a true reproduction of colours in various ambient lighting conditions. While my old Thunderbolt display was less than perfect, it worked for the time being. I also looked at EIZO displays, but did not have the budget for a monitor with similar specs. With the BenQ PD3220U I found a display that works great for me.  On the plus side: • Full 4K monitor with an absolute brilliant clarity. • Matte coated anti glare screen  • Single USB-C connection to my MacBook Pro for charge and display  • Excellent / true colour reproduction when calibrated • Solid build quality • Ability to set up in Portrait or Landscape • Height adjustable • Plenty of ports • Very thin bezels which makes the display look smaller despite its 32  On the minus side: • Coming from an Apple product, the ports for peripherals are not easy to access. • No camera - but then, this is a design monitor and I have a camera build-in to my laptop • Speakers are horrible, but yet again, the focus should be on the monitor itself. Overall, I love the monitor and considering that this display cost about the same as the LG displays Apple promotes it is superior in build quality and features.

I was going back and forth between getting a 4k monitor or a ultra widescreen. To summarize: I'm glad I went with more features and the 4k. The monitor itself is super sleek. A nice thin bezel on a really nice adjustable stand. I love the all white. The hub is actually what I like the most about this. One single thunderbolt 4 cable connected to my macbook pro allows me to have a keyboard and mouse connected and webcam without using another docking station. It really reduced the number of cables I have on my desk. For whatever reason I can't get the USBC to work with my ASUS laptop from 2021, even though it has thunderbolt 4 connections. It charges but doesn't display. The monitor picture itself looks pretty good. Color is good and resolution in 4k looks great. Lots of reviews complained about the software, and maybe I'm running a newer version, but I think the software is perfectly fine. You have 3 options to choose from, Media, Game and Workspace. Any connected devices show up under workspace. If you click media it works like any smart TV, which is really nice for a multipurpose system. If you click game, you have access to some streaming gaming services (Xbox, Amazon ect.) and can connect a bluetooth controller to the Monitor. Bonus: If you have a mouse/keyboard connected it actually allows you to use that to navigate the system; which makes logging into the streaming services a breeze. If you have a PC hooked up to it, it wakes up like a normal monitor and goes to that source. The biggest complaint is that I wish there was a quick source selection on the remote but that's a rather minor thing. Overall I just really like this monitor a lot.

I was surprised with how huge the box was when this flagship monitor came in. I felt like I ordered a new television. The ultrawide 34" screen makes you feel immersed as you watch movies or play games 21:9. I also love the sound quality this monitor makes. It almost felt like a surround sound system and I was amazed as how great the stock speakers were. Some specs of the CJ791 is that it has a refresh rate of 100hz, 4ms response time, 3440x1440 screen resolution, and a contrast ratio of 3000:1. Although it isn't an IPS monitor, the QLED technology covers more than 125% of the sRGB color space making it a great monitor for video editing as well. It's a productivity monster when I used Adobe Premeire for video editing. I could fit the whole time onscreen and then some! The CJ791 also comes with AMD free sync and a game mode optimizing responsiveness and screen lag. The thunderbolt connections take the win for this monitor giving it the crown for one of the first monitors from Samsung with this connectivity. It can transmit video and data at speeds of up to 40Gbps — 8 times faster than USB 3.0 — and simultaneously charges devices (up to 85W), all over a single cable. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first ever gaming monitor I’ve ever owned or bought. I bought this monitor for my PlayStation 5!! And I have No regrets well worth the price I use to game on my Samsung 4K tv which has a refresh rate of 120hz but it only had the HDMI 2.0 input at first I thought it was going to be weird going from a 55” Tv to a 27” monitor but right off that bat it just doesn’t compare gaming in a 27 inches is perfect for gaming I was doing it all wrong! And the 4K quality looks better on my LG monitor than it did on my Samsung TV and now I can take Advantage of the 120FPS features on certain games for my PS5 overall I’m very happy with my new monitor and would for sure recommend it to my friends or anyone to buy it if they can.
