Samsung 850 Pro Laptop Kit

This is now the third Samsung 850 PRO SSD that I have purchased. First my laptop (7 year old MacBook Pro) now flies. Then the 3 year old Mac Mini boots in 40 seconds! I am now transferring the hard drive contents from my wife's 5 year old iMac and I expect fantastic results. Given the 10 year warrantee from Samsung I may never have to buy another! I have gotten transfer rates approaching 7 GB / Minute! JR

I would say Samsung makes one of the best SSD. I had the Samsung 840 Pro before and now upgraded to Samsung 850 Pro 512gb

Have had the Samsung 830 Pro's, the 840 Pro's. the 850 Pro's and now the 860 Pro. Never had a problem and they are all still in use today...

Everyone already knows about the Samsung 850 PRO Series SSD's... the review is for B&H and anyone deciding to do business with them. I ordered this after my drive started to make weird noises on my MBP and it was at my door the next day... Awesome delivery time outstanding support from other things i purchased, and the guys here take the time to do everything they can to get you the right gear no matter what. Just an AWESOME company. I would recommend to anyone and they destroy everyone else when it comes to prices. Stay away from @ this is the way to shop.

I just got samsung SSD 850 Pro about two weeks ago, and want to share my opinion about this product.... Very good looking light SSD works VERY, Very fast..... you absolutely going to notice the difference....especially if you have HDD... Read speed is about: 500-520 mb/s Write speed is about 400-450 mb/s

I got the Samsung SSD 850 PRO 512GB. It's total quality at an affordable price. The "Migration" software was a breeze, just click and it cloned my old hard drive seamlessly. After cloning was done, just flip over the laptop pop open the cover for the HDD, remove some screw's and slip in your awesome Samsung SSD, pop the screw's in, replace the cover and your ready to compute at an incredible rate. Prepare to be shocked at the speed of this drive! You'll feel like a real Pro with the Samsung PRO SSD.

Pros: Very fast startup, Very easy to install using Samsung's Data Migration Software. I installed the 850 PRO by migrating my boot HDD to the 850 PRO and replacing the HDD (my C: drive) with the much faster 850 PRO. Everything went very smoothly in my Windows 10 AMD desktop. Cons: Samsung could do a better job on instructing the user on how to prepare the system prior to the start of data migration. For example there should be a set of instructions informing the user to make sure the AHCI driver is loaded on the Windows 10 system prior to the start of data migration. If you don't use AHCI you will not get the maximum performance from your ssd. If you install the AHCI driver after migrating the data to the ssd and then replacing the hdd with the ssd, you may lose the ability to boot the computer from the ssd. Windows 10 does not install the AHCI driver in a fresh install of Windows 10. Samsung should have step by step instructions on what to do to make sure we get best performance for which the ssd was designed.

I have cloned drives from Crucial and Samsung. Samsung comes with the best cloning software. I put the new Samsung 850 PRO into a slot on my Desktop, initiated the clone from a suspected under performing Crucial SSD. The Cloning failed due to a bad sector on the Crucial SSD. The Samsung cloning software walked me thorough the correcting steps. All I had to do was click 'YES' as it took me 'by the hand' through the fix. The cloning software re-booted and again the cloning was initiated. Around 1 hour afterwards, the cloning complete, I disconnected the Cruicial. The Samsung 850 PRO has been working flawlessly for the week. I'm sold!!!!!!

Replaced aging IDE Boot drive with Samsung 850 Pro 128GB. Cloned old drive over to new drive, changed boot in bios and was done. Very fast and best warranty in the industry.

I did my homework and decided on the Samsung SSD 850 Pro because of the new 3D vertical NAND (V-NAND) flash memory, top performance and high endurance. I believe the extra monies spent will be well worth it. Installed with no problem and up and running. I replaced a WD VelociRaptor that was having problems.
