I recently got a SanDisk 1TB SSD (Solid State Drive) and used a drive cloning device to clone my old 1TB Hard Disk Drive (HDD) to the new SSD. It works wonders in my 15 year old computer! It really speeds up drive-related activities, perhaps as much as 3 or 4 times faster. I think my old HP laptop computer is either a SATA or SATA II type, so I suspect those with a SATA III system would see even better speed results when going from a HDD to a SSD. Gotta love it! 5 |

Bought this 2TB Samsung 860 Pro SSD to replace my gaming notebooks 1TB Samsung 850 Pro Storage SSD. The 2TB Samsung 860 Pro has only slightly faster, average performance over all then the 1TB Samsung 850 Pro which is hardly noticeable for every day storage use. In fact, the 850 Pro even meets or beats the 860 Pro in some performance test comparisons (see uploaded Screen shots comparing performance test of both SSD's). The Samsung 860 Pro only comes with a 5 year Samsung Warranty vs. 10 years for the Samsung 850 Pro but the 860 Pro has a much higher durability rating. I replaced the 1TB Samsung 850 Pro with the 2TB Samsung 860 Pro b/c it has double the storage capacity but not for any other reasons b/c they're both the two best, fastest SATA III SSD's made in the world today. 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I can't figure out why I was opposed to ordering my new computer with a Solid State Drive instead of a HDD. Perhaps I was leery of the technology. I since replaced the HDD with the Samsung 860 Pro Solid State Drive. Before it to several minutes for the system to boot, now it is almost instantaneous. The overall performance of my system has increased 100 fold. Kudos to Samsung for their continuously innovative products. They made me a believer. 5 |

I installed the Samsung 250GB Solid State Drive in my Lenovo desk-top computer. I moved Windows and all my application software to the solid state drive and all of my personal files to the internal disc drive. The disc drive is backed by an external disc drive. The resulting system is much faster. The installation went very smooth, although I had the entire system backed up on an external disk drive incase anything went wrong. 5 |

After reading Lionel's recent review here, I spoke with Samsung customer service and was assured their data migration software would work with the 860 pro. So I took a chance and purchased this item. Just completed replacement of the 120GB SSD system disk in my W7 desktop and the process worked perfectly, aided tremendously by having a Sabrent EC-DFLT external hard drive enclosure that was housing a 3.5" drive used for storage. After removing the 3.5" drive from the Sabrent and replacing it with the 860 Pro, I installed the Samsung data migration software, which did update after its installation, from version 3.1.0.1 to version 3.1.0.3. I then ran the data migration software - the process took 17 minutes and prompted me to install the 860 pro after it finished. I powered down, swapped the 860 Pro for the old 120BG disk, rebooted, and the system started with no apparent change except the system disk now has 380GB of free space. On the basis of this experience, I recommend this product and send Kudos to Samsung for providing the very helpful software. 5 |

We use the Samsung 860 PRO SATA III 2.5 Internal SSD on our Atomos recorders. This drive is very fast and for 4K shooting it's excellent, solid and reliable. We never had an issue when using on location, and in post production we hook it up to the Lacie 2 Big Dock via Thunderbolt for fast editing and offloading. The prices are going down on these SSD's, if you need fast, high capacity drive go for the Samsung Pro line. 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this 980 Pro SSD to upgrade the hard drive in my son PC. I figured it will be a big performance improvement since the drive in his PC was a Samsung 860 EVO SATA III and this one is PCIe 4.0 NVMe m2 drive. I cloned the Samsung 860 SSD and no problem encountered; Removed the old drive and installed the 980 Pro drive. I was impressed with the improved performance. Boot up time, opening applications, disk related activities were much faster. I ran a quick benchmark of the Samsung 860 and Samsung 980 Pro using CrystalDiskMark and the differences was 6-7 times faster. Since this computer doesn’t support PCIe 4.0, I imagine this 980 Pro SSD will perform even better with PCIe 4.0 interface. This drive is gear toward power users or gaming pc. 5 |
