Samsung Backup To External Hard Drive

No issues. I use it to connect an external backup hard drive to my netbook.

I have several WD Elements Desktop External Hard Drive and all have served us well for backup.

I have used a LaCie Rugged USB External Hard Drive as a backup device for over 10 years. This is a very reliable product. When I purchased a new computer with a Type C drive I did not hesitate to upgrade to a LaCie Type C drive knowing it would be just as reliable.

Purchased this to transfer photos from another WD 4TB external hard drive as a backup.

Samsung got back on their game, this drive is really fast and so far rock solid. Using it as an external backup with an Asus tough case, and it has reduced backup times something like 1/4th what they were with an HD. I'm extremely picky about my drive hardware,

For several years I have been using the small Samsung USB-C external drives (almost credit-card sized) -- I used two 500GB and one 1TB drives along with Carbon Copy Cloner and my MacBook Air. That worked well (although the 1TB became corrupted and unusable about 3 months ago) and I would especially back up the drive before any flight and separate the drive from my laptop at TSA. I just upgraded to a (wonderful!) MacBook Pro 14 and attempted a Migration Assistant transfer from the Air using a fresh Samsung backup. I let it run for about 8 hours and it never got past the first Looking for applications and documents... stage. To cut to the chase: I thus ordered this 500GB LaCie drive and did a fresh CCC backup from the MB Air. It took 7 minutes to backup 400GB of data! Using the Samsung with USB-C it would take 13 mins for ~22GB. (See screenshot of CCC logs.) I hooked the LaCie up to the MB Pro and started Migration Assistant. The whole process took ~15 minutes. Previously it would take hours. Sorry for rambling on. TLDR; A wicked fast external drive worth every penny. And Thunderbolt makes a huge difference!

I bought this hard drive to use with Time Machine on my Mac. I literally just plugged it in, then the computer asked me if I wanted to use it as my Time Machine backup and I clicked yes. Presto. Done. Didn't install any software, it's just plug and play. (I had to buy a new external drive because I got a new computer and the old backup drive would be completely overwritten if I used it for Time Machine. This one is about 1/20 the size of the old. Since I work upstairs in my bedroom at night sometimes, it's nice to have an external drive that is completely portable. This way I tend to plug it in for a backup more often instead of waiting until I am downstairs again.) I actually bought an extra one for a different computer.

I need CD blanks to first backup my computer, in case of external/internal hard drive failure. And to copy/burn and to store relevant data. So I choose Verbatim because they are highly reliable and I have had success with them before.

Very compact and secure 2TB external hard drive. Great for backup of essential data (pictures, journal, notes,....) while traveling. Password protected.

I wanted a basic back-up storage external hard drive for music, pictures and OS backup. After reading many reviews, I purchased this product. It is exactly what I wanted, basic storage with no invasive back-up programs getting in the way. Great purchase and would recommend it!!
