[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Samsung’s 980 Pro is a PCIe 4 M.2 NVMe SSD. This is a high-end product; this is the fastest flash-based SSD I can purchase. From specification, the sequential read and write speed are 6900 Mbps / 5000 Mpbs. Though this quoted performance from Samsung is very exciting,, you will need a system which has PCIe 4 to reach this number. The installation is simple; you will a motherboard or laptop with a capable NVMe supported M.2 slot. You can need to remove laptop back cover; you will need to be careful about that. Samsung has also highlighted Intelligent TurboWrite 2.0 technology which delivers 5 times the buffer size. That means under large workload will not decline the performance. This SSD is also built-in advanced thermal control solutions allow for the drive to perform well at cool temperatures. It is important for me, and I plan to use this SSD to build my AI training server system. Overall, this SSD is fastest SSD I can find from the market, and it has all-new Elpis controller, backwards-compatibility with PCIe 3.0, and NVMe 1.3 support. It is target for gaming user, but, it is also good for my AI training server. 5 |

I have a top of the line gaming laptop it had two m.2 ssd's and a one TB mechanical hdd and after having it a while I needed more room. I have never had any issues with the Samsung product line so I bought this SSD and wow my computer runs like new again and with two terabytes of disk space it has room again. Thanks to Samsung for such a great product and the price was great to. 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Samsung's first 4TB M.2 SSD is an absolute masterpiece of engineering. The 4TB 990 PRO, like all those of its namesake that have come before it, is an elegant single-sided work of art. It is, in fact, the world's only 4TB single-sided M.2 2280 SSD with onboard DRAM. Final Thoughts Overall, we are of the opinion that if you want the very best gaming SSD that can The Bottom Line High capacity and otherworldly performance make Samsung's 4TB 990 PRO SSD a must have. 5 |

samsung is known for their ssd's and if you don't have an m.2 slot on your motherboard, then you definitely need to pick one up. an ssd is basically essential for all computer builds now. the 860 pro uses v-nand which is a lot faster under heavier loads compared to qlc, so if you are torn between the evo or the pro just get the pro. if you are working with large files or many small files this drive's speeds are unreal. windows boots in literal seconds, and large 1440p and 4k videos are copied over in seconds. samsung drives are best in class, and you should not settle for any less. 5 |

The Sata m.2 in the Latitude 7490 had fast disk read of 454 but I knew the NVME would be lightning speed compared to it. I bought the Gen 3 Samsung because of the price and also knowing the Latitude would only use 2 lanes. (per the internet ). I also decided to do a clean install of Windows 11 Pro. I removed the Sata m.2, put in the Samsung m.2 booted up with the Windows 11 Pro install dvd and Windows saw the Samsung immediately. After the install, I tested the drive with Crystal Disk Mark and it was 33250, I later installed the Samsung driver for the disk, downloaded from the Samsung site and it was 3499. The Drive states speeds of 3500. Totally pleased and my son which is an IT Director, is going to buy the exact same disk to upgrade his companies Dell Optiplex's. 5 Star, and super quick shipping from B&H. 5 |

I purchased three Samsung 980 Pro PCIe 4.0 M.2 SSDs for a new MSI MEG Z690I UNIFY LGA 1700 Mini-ITX Motherboard fitted with an Intel i9-12900 CPU. The SSDs work great, but in the confined space on the motherboard they run between 50 and 80 degrees C (even with the thermal tape in place). Time will tell if they last at these temperatures. 5 |

Been a user of various Samsung Pro SSD's for a number of years, now, and this one is the biggest one yet. Plugged into our laptop, along with a 512GB M.2 Samsung Pro boot drive, it works flawlessly. So far, all of the half-dozen or so Samsung SSD's we've installed are still providing speedy, good performance. Coupled with Samsung's Magician software, we can see how the drive performance is holding up over time, and stay on top of any serious drive issues that arise (so far, that number is zero!). If you need a good sized, fast, and small M.2 drive, this one is a keeper, and highly recommended! And, of course, you can't do better with B&H's stellar selection, speedy deliver, and fabulous customer service! 5 |

This M.2 enclosure does what it claims, my Samsung Evo Pro came in at 1000mb/sec read/write which is the most Your gonna get out of a 10gb case, I also use the Asus Rog Strix M.2 case which does the same speed but is such a pain to swap out M.2 drives whereas this one is real quick. 5 |

I use it in my 2019 Mac Pro with 4x2TB m.2 SSDs from Samsung. The passive cooling works great, I see consistent write/read speed rates in continuous heavy use and the drive is silent. 5 |
