Having been using Nikon cameras since the 70's, I have a number of classic manual focus F mount Nikkors. This is a relatively inexpensive alternative to Nikon's own adaptor to use these lenses on you Z. It is also very well made and has a precision fit on both sides. Be aware that there is no exposure communication at all between the lens and camera. I use the camera display's histogram to help set exposure. The Z's highlighting focus assist works well too. I've been having fun rediscovering the joys of my 50mm f1.2 and my 105mm f 2.5 again.

If you like manual focus lenses and you are looking for the APS-C equivalent of a classic nifty-fifty, this lens will not disappoint. I absolutely love it, and it has become the walk-around lens that lives on my X-T3. Amazing value for money in my humble opinion. Very sharp, minimal distortion, and good control of CA. It is somewhat heavy and bulky, but for the IQ delivered at this price point, this is a fault I'm willing to forgive.

I will start off with this, I am partial to manual lenses. Something about a manual lens takes me back to the first camera I used, my grandpas old Nikon 35mm SLR. I used it for all my film classes in college and still have it to this day! This lens is great there is something about a manual lens that let's you feel so much more in control than an auto focus lens. This lens is great and is always on my camera! I have others that I use for specific reasons, BUT, as an everyday walk around lens THIS IS IT. It's always the lens that I have to take off my camera body to use another and once I'm done it goes right back on. I use it on my Sony a7ii and it's a perfect match. It sharp, colors are amazing, not very big, and adds a nice classic look to a modern camera. If I had to for whatever reason could only keep one of my lenses this would be the one that I keep. PLUS f1.2 makes it a great low light lens for those late night outings. I believe this lens is worth every penny, and it basically got all of my pennies haha. Focusing is made very easy on the Sony cameras and it's built like a tank. I'm pretty sure this lens will out last all other camera bodies to follow. If you are looking for a great manual lens that takes sharp pictures, has great color rendition, and great contrast, combined with a classic look that's not to big or heavy on the Sony mirrorless system, then look no further!

Manual focus lenses are an absolute joy to use, and this classic from Nikon is no different. Who would think in the year 2020 you could still buy a brand new manual focus lens from one the biggest names in the camera business! Yeah it's a design that is over 30 years old, but why try to change when perfection was already achieved?

Every one of my classic manual focus/manual iris Nikkor lenses fit well on this adapter, connected to my Sony FS7 super 35 broadcast 4K video camera. They all fit snugly, with very little play, and best of all, even the big, heavy lenses are well-supported by both ends of the adapter...so I have confidence it won't crack the unit or camera lens mount. It's solid, all metal. Lenses focus to infinity. All lens functions are manual, which is what I prefer as a 40 year veteran of full-size broadcast cameras. I'm glad my Nikkors have a new lease on life in the digital age!

I wanted a manual focus lens to get away from the look of digital focus lenses and get back to what feels like more traditional classic photography (without switching to film). This lens is perfect for me. I shoot mostly wide open so I can't speak to it's sharpness the focus ring is smooth and the quality of imagery I'm making with it is wonderful.

This is the finest lens in my collection of fast manual lenses - worth every penny of price. Useful on nearly every full-frame or APS-C mirrorless digital camera body with just a simple adapter (note: on APS-C the focal length will be about 53 mm). The 1/3 stop aperture click detents make precise exposure settings simple. Focus control is easy, ergonomic and precise. Image quality is astounding. The beautiful silver finish demonstrates the perfection of form and function that is this lens.

I added this lens to my collection for my Canon 60D. This was my first cine lens and I love it! I was a little scared at first about the manual focus, but it actually is great. With little practice you can learn to control focus exactly the way you want. I think I may invest in the 14mm or 16mm in the future.
