Samsung Hdmi Monitor Screen Repair

This is an insurance policy. And yes, I needed it. Cheaper than sending the monitor in for a screen repair. 5 |

I bought this to connect my aging Samsung monitor, which only has DVI and VGA inputs, to my new computer which only has DisplayPort and HDMI outputs. Since the monitor doesn't have a sound system in it, DisplayPort is the natural choice, and I use the HDMI of for my pen tablet. Cable works flawlessly with no problems in picture quality and has plenty of length to be able to stow the computer out of the way. It feels durable enough to last many years. 5 |

Samsung places this monitor in their Essentials lineup - a moniker usually reserved by vendors for very basic devices. And, indeed, many things about this monitor are basic. But nothing is actually bad or even poor. The picture is good. The brightness is good. It properly handles 50Hz (PAL framerate) video from my retro gaming scaler, so that's a very nice feature. As is typical with inexpensive monitors, the stand is bare-bones and places the monitor quite low to the desk, but the VESA mounting option lets me add a $20 monitor arm to solve that issue. The single HDMI input is a tad limiting, but at $4 per port for the HDMI licensing fee, I can understand why they did that. It's also not excessively light-weight that it threatens to topple over on my desk. The external power supply is a bit of an odd design, being an in-line brick with with the AC input at an angle. Just something to keep in mind for cable routing concerns. In all, a great monitor for the price. Highly recommended. 5 |

I recently also bought a Samsung UHD monitor from B & H to use with my laptop, and though the monitor includes an HDMI cable, a friend recommended my buying the Mini DisplayPort Adapter Cable for even higher quality than the HDMI. Not only was it inexpensive, it definitely makes a worthwhile difference in sharper and richer picture quality, and would highly recommend this product to anyone wishing to improve their monitor picture quality. 5 |

I fitted this to my mobile switching box to monitor an ATEM Television Studio switcher. It is the perfect solution. The loop-through on both the screen inputs and the LAN port makes these screens fit in very nicely in a small solution. The screens are bright (adjustable through network interface) and crisp. I connected my multi-view output on the one screen and program to the other and it helps a lot not having to lug around an external TV or monitor. I know it is not intended as an HDMI monitor and won't hold this against the product but having HDMI inputs would be nice so one can put an iMac mini in the rack and not need anything else. 5 |

As a videographer, using a waveform monitor is critical for me for correct exposure. On one of my cameras I use an older monitor that does not have a waveform function. The solution is a HDMI splitter, 2 1.5' HDMI cables and the Shonibi. I believe the Shonibi is the lest expensive monitor that supports a waveform. To be sure, there are other cost effective monitors out there that feature waveform, but when you engage that feature, the actual waveform takes up only a small part of the screen. And that is about worthless to me. To be sure, the waveform feature does not cover the entire screen of the Shinobi, but about 75% - 80% of the screen. And that is fine for me. It's lightweight, bright, and has a good quality build that you would expect from Atomos. 5 |

This screen was bought to use with my Sony a7ii mounted on a DJI Ronin-M. I had it linked from HDMI from the monitor to a mini HDMI. It displayed my screen from my camera exactly how I see it. It displays it very accurately and honestly it might even be better than what you see on the camera screen. The only complaint I have is that you have to use a headphone jack adapter, or an aux cable on the screen to make the squealing from the mics and speakers from both the camera and the monitor to stop. It still record audio and plays back fine too. Other than that it’s a really good screen for the price. 5 |
