I always choose samsung ssd's for upgrades for the speed, quality & price even on lower end laptop upgrades. 5 |

This is my 1st 18Tb drive. It will take around 30 hours to fully copy this drive assuming you have a constant speed of 110,000 kbytes/second. The drive is not noisy, and it does not heat up that much compared to other drives of lesser capacity. I use this drive as a backup solution and as a test drive. If this drive works fine then i will buy more of those drives. I've always been impressed with the lifespan on the Hitachi drives (Ultrastar is the Hitachi name owned by IBM before). Almost all my Hitachi drives never failed on me for the last 8 years and they have been working constantly 24 hours a day. Also Hitachi's returning policy is the best: if your drive fails, they will send you a new drive instead of a refurbished drive, this is why I only buy Hitachi (rebranded WD). All those things should be taken into consideration when you buy a drive. Of course it's still too soon to know how long this drive will last but i will make sure to update my review is something else comes up. 5 |

I bought this drive as a replacement for Hitachi 1 TB portable HDD. Hitachi drive was defective, so I went for WD. It is good, I have no problems with it. It is a little slow, but for the backup purposes it is OK. Recommend. 5 |

I am using this with an 18TB Hitachi drive to connect it to my old Mac Pro via USB 3.0. It works great. The enclosure is not very large and has stand with the non-slip base. It has been very fast and quiet, just what I had hoped it would be. And it looks nice on my desk. 5 |

I was using the Hitachi version of these forever (like 20 of them) for audio and video intensive work. That drive was recommended by the guys at Graid, because they used them in their externals. I heard WD bought the Hitachi division a couple of years back, when my go to's were now discontinued. I had MAJOR bad luck with WD drives in the past. I tested out two of these last year (one for backup, I buy them in pairs for this reason). Working perfectly. Two more, perfect, two more, perfect. (6 total now). Still got my fingers crossed that at the two year mark, the first two don't fail, on the same day, like a couple of older WD drives in the past (15 years ago). Installed those original WDs in two different PCs on the same day (I uses two for beta testing software product) They BOTH failed on the same day exactly two years later. OMG. I've had many other WD drives that didn't last as long as my other brands, so I stayed away from WD, until last year. So I was very reluctant to use WD. But hey, I gave it another shot, thinking that the Hitachi buy gave them better tech. FIngers crossed. :) But pretty confident that these will last as my Hitachi versions, which are still all running strong after 8+ years... 5 |

I just bought a Hitachi 3TB Touro Desk Pro USB 3.0 External Hard Disk Drive ( B&H # HIHDTDTP3B ) and since my PC tower case is about 1.5 meters from my desk and monitor I needed a longer cable. The cable included with the external hard disk is too short. This cable from CablesToGo made the trick. It is well built, good quality and send the data at full USB 3.0 speed. The price was good and made the job. Highly recommendable if you need a little more distance reach. Just do not forget to check the connector type at the end of the cable in order to match with your device. Hope that helps. 5 |

I've been using Hitachi drives, especially Ultrastar, since Seagate's Enterprise drives started failed miserably in large batches a few years ago, and never looked back. Very few failures. This one worked flawlessly to upgrade a Drobo storage device. 5 |

I'm a professional photographer and have 2 of these drives, as well as 3 other G-Technology drives. They use Hitachi hard drives, which in all my research, are rated as the most reliable drives out there. 5 |
