Samsung Laptop Not Seeing Eternal Drive

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this SSD Drive to replace a old 500GB WD Blue. What I like about the Samsung Drive is the Magician Software. It allows me to clone my old drive using a SATA to USB. Once I put the new Samsung drive in my laptop. The laptop loaded windows faster than my spinning hard drive and my program responce is smoother and quicker. 5 |

Absolutely love being able to use the drive on my Samsung laptop and my Z flip5. It's really convenient and easy to use! Bought one for my mom as well! 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've always have been a Samsung fan to having their 850 EVO ssd in my old desktop PC to having the Samsung Z Fold, to the galaxy watch and earbuds. I really needed more space on my laptop and this was a perfect upgrade. Installation was simple since this was my first M.2 NVMe ssd, and the use of Samsung Magician software you can use for cloning the drive is great. I could tell that the SSD that came with the laptop vs the 990 pro, once I booted up windows I could tell a difference. I usually have multiple browsers open or gaming on my laptop and with this new gen 4 drive really made things feel really quick. This Samsung 990 Pro was so amazing that I might actually buy the 2TB version for my second slot on my laptop! 5 |

My laptop had a 2TB Samsung EVO 970 plus system drive and I bought this WD black to put in a USB enclosure. But before I did, I ran Crystal Disk Mark on the Samsung, cloned the system to this drive and ran it again on this drive. My laptop is only PCI 3 so I wasn't expecting the stated performance, and no surprise it didn't make those numbers. But it did perform a little better than the Samsung and ran a bit cooler also. So I kept this WD black as the system drive and wiped the Samsung and put that one in the USB enclosure. Now it's a few weeks later and so far so good. 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This top of the line NVMe drive from Samsung continues their legacy of producing top of the line solid state drives. The speeds are around 7000Mbps read and write if installed in a desktop or laptop that supports PCIe 4.0 x4. I first tested the drive in a external enclosure and then moved it over to my laptop and getting it installed and setup was no problem. No software comes in the box but you can get Samsung's Magician software from their website. That software is a must if you want to manage, monitor, or customize your drive. Make sure to keep your drive firmware updated too as those can often provide fixes for existing or newly discovered issues. This drive has been great so far and I'll continue to use it as my primary boot drive. Gaming load times have noticeably improved for me too! 5 |

Needed to upgrade my old sata drive and decided to go with a SSD and having a Samsung drive in a old laptop figured to go with this brand. MIgration was a breeze and its even faster now that's its solid state. Great upgrade and would highly recommend. 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Finally got my hands on the Samsung 990 Pro PCIe 4.0 NVMe and I am super impressed! I have always been a huge fan of Samsung SSDs and use them almost exclusively in all my computers/laptops. So the first order of business was popping it in my external enclosure and getting an idea of the speed and testing it out, I loved what I saw so much I immediately cloned my main SSD in my new PCIe 4.0 capable laptop and swapped those drives out! As with any M.2 drive the install was super easy and is usually just popping it into the slot and screwing it down. As for setup, I used a cloner to clone the OS and main drive to the 990 Pro. The laptop was already fast before the Samsung 990 Pro but it's smoking fast now, probably the fastest laptop I have had to date! The Samsung 990 Pro specs out as follows from the manufacturer: Up to 1400K/1550K IOPS Sequential read/write speeds up to 7450/6900 MB/s (near the max performance of PCIe 4.0) So what did I see so far? Well boot time is superb at ~10 seconds from power on to fingerprint and maybe 2 seconds from fingerprint to usable desktop! CrystalDiskMark testing comes in as follows: Sequential read/write speeds - 6963/4175 MB/s Random read/write speeds - 3260/2304 MB/s 796K/562K IOPS This is definitely a fast SSD offering from Samsung and I highly suggest getting out there and grabbing one for laptop/desktop/or even external use. For me I am using this as my primary drive in the laptop going forward as that's where the video editing happens! 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When we got the Samsung 990 Pro NVMe we decided to use it in our laptop as it's primary drive and the speed is just amazing. Nearly everything I do on the laptop is almost instantaneous to load. Video editing is faster than previously and everything just works better! I am not as much of a techie as my husband is so I cannot say much as to the specifics but real world this drive is just plain FAST!! 5 |

I no longer carry a laptop when I travel. Just an iPad and an external SSD drive. I can backup my images, and do quick Lightroom edits, more for fun and out of curiosity than final processing--I do that when I return home. I had been using a Samsung T7 drive as my hard drive. Sometimes the iPad didn't see it; the transfer speed was painfully slow--like 2 hours for a 128 GB SanDisk card. I stopped by B & H while in NYC. The salesperson advised replacing the Samsung drive with the SanDisk one. All problems solved. Much faster transfer rate. The drive is recognized consistently by the iPad. Now the question is whether I can improve my system further by upgrading to the latest iPads with the M2 chip. As an aside, the system would be much better if Apple improved its file manager program. 5 |
