I always choose samsung ssd's for upgrades for the speed, quality & price even on lower end laptop upgrades.

This one is on Atomos's list of accepted drives for the Ninja V. Its a bit cheaper than the Samsung ones, so you might save yourself a penny or two with this one.

I initially put this case on my shopping list to use as a carryon for travel assignments and also as a way to store gear in my basement without worrying about dust and moisture. It has become the case that travels to every assignment. I may buy a second one with the alternate lid organizer for overflow gear. A couple of points to keep in mind: -- The pouch of a laptop dwarfs the current 13 Macbook Pro Retina. . . by a lot. I still have not worked out how to use it with the laptop without worrying about it swimming around in the case. -- If you use full size camera bodies (Canon 1D, etc) or a body with a vertical grip, you need to be strategic about where you place them or there won't be enough clearance for the laptop or other items in the second pouch.

I work with two Kubuntu 12.04 Linux workstations continuously connected, and a Windows 7 employer's Lenovo 530 laptop that I connect every evening on returning home and disconnect every morning when heading to work (via a Lenovo docking station continuously connected). My monitors are dual Dell 3007 2560x1600 dual-link DVI, keyboard Avant Stellar (PCI connector via USB adapter), with a Microsoft wireless mouse. When using the laptop, I can use its screen in addition to the two Dells. I can switch among these seamlessly. I even have the less-used Linux workstation normally sleeping, as it wakes up properly as soon as I select it. A nice touch is that one Dual-Link DVI cable of each pair has the USB and audio cables integrated into it, keeping the wiring rat's nest manageable. The only annoyance is that, inevitably, because the external monitor configuration for the Windows 7 Lenovo 530 at the office differs, I need to reposition some windows when moving between home and office. But once I got the Windows configuration set up properly, the laptop at least automatically recognizes which monitor configuration it's connected to. (Because the DVI outputs of the Lenovo docking station are single-link, it's necessary to use its HDMI outputs and interpose Accel HDMI to Dual DVI converters between it and the MiniView.)

Solid waterproof construction, I'd feel confident walking into any conditions with this case. I needed a case that would protect not only my gear, but my laptop and tablet as well. There's plenty of room, with the laptop stowed up on the lid portion of the case. The only downside I've experienced is the configuration of the padding. There are countless configurations you can create for your needs, but none of the inserts lend to a good configuration for holding a camera with a lens attached. I managed to make it work with the provided pads, but it's not perfect. The case is heavy, but I think that's ok given the protection provided and the fact that it's a rolling case (making it great for travel)

Did some research online and Samsung 850 seems like the gold standard. I have much better luck when going with commercial or business grade electronics rather than consumer grade, and my laptop is crucial to my work, so I paid a few dollars more for the PRO rather than the EVO. Replaced hard drive in Dell Latitude e6530 laptop. Laptop now reboots lightning fast (less than 1 minute) on Win 7 Pro, 64 bit, 3rd gen i5 processor, 4 GB RAM. Immediately noticed programs open and close much faster than with old oem 7200 rpm drive from 2012. After using in above configuration for a few weeks I added 8 GB RAM and now it really flies with many multiple programs open. This configuration runs faster than many brand new laptops I work with. FYI this laptop is used for a law office, not for gaming or HD videos or intense graphics work, so your mileage may vary.

The CM1000 is a plug-n-play device without any configuration. However, it is a modem and not a router. This means once you connect a laptop to test the Internet connection directly, the ISP remembers the laptop's MAC address and makes subsequent installation of router difficult unless you are pairing it with a Netgear wifi router which allows it to emulate the earlier MAC address that works.

Good for iMac and laptop due to low power consumption, used two of these in iMac raid0 configuration w/r speed over 1000mb/s it is like turbo ssd in raid0, but you can not install osx on raid0 only solution is install on external drive and use superduper to copy back from external to raid0 internal

I am able to put quite a bit of gear in this case, and I appreciate being able to alter the configuration of the padding as I continue to tweak where I want things. I have the lid organizer on mine, and mostly keep small odds and ends (filters, gels, etc) in the laptop case and batteries in the smaller compartment. My 15 Macbook Pro fits very well in the laptop case when it is empty of other items, although I will rarely use it for that. It was mentioned that the cinch strap for the laptop is too long, and that is true, but I used a few small clamps (the $2 Home Depot green ones) to cinch it tighter, and now I can easily find clamps to tighten up someone's wardrobe or hold back light fabric. Regarding lack of stuff pockets: Get creative. Instead of taking up valuable space with a huge roll of gaff tape, wind some around the barrel of your pen. What made me go with this case was seeing a pro stand on hers and use it as an ersatz apple box for clients to sit on. I'm all about lugging less gear. It would be nice if it had four wheels, and yeah--it's heavy, but I'm just over 100 lbs and I have not had any difficulty getting it in and out of my car. I agonized over this vs another wheeled case, but am confident that I made the right choice.
