Requires a dongle to install on laptop, if Samsung Migration Software flaky, other free migration software works fine.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This top of the line NVMe drive from Samsung continues their legacy of producing top of the line solid state drives. The speeds are around 7000Mbps read and write if installed in a desktop or laptop that supports PCIe 4.0 x4. I first tested the drive in a external enclosure and then moved it over to my laptop and getting it installed and setup was no problem. No software comes in the box but you can get Samsung's Magician software from their website. That software is a must if you want to manage, monitor, or customize your drive. Make sure to keep your drive firmware updated too as those can often provide fixes for existing or newly discovered issues. This drive has been great so far and I'll continue to use it as my primary boot drive. Gaming load times have noticeably improved for me too!

Glad I bought this SSD instead of a new laptop. Samsung cloning software worked beautifully. What a performance upgrade!

I bought this kit to see if it would be possible for me to control my telescope/camera with my laptop from a distance.  I normally drive to remote sites in the countryside, set up my gear and record asteroid occultations.  I have spent many cold nights outside pursuing this hobby.  I have 4 USB devices connected to the laptop that I need to support.  First is the telescope mount connection to the control software on my laptop, second is the wi-fi antenna for the wireless gamepad that I use to control the scope if Im at the eyepiece, third is a GPS puck that syncs time, position and elevation to the mount and the planetarium program on the laptop and fourth (most difficult and most important) is the camera connection where the camera outputs avi or FITS files to the SSD on the laptop via USB.  This camera connection has to provide enough bandwidth to avoid dropping any frames.  Besides being uncomfortable in the winter sitting outside with the laptop, I also started experiencing very poor performance with the laptop when the temps were below freezing.  Last night I sat comfortably in my van watching my laptop (also warm in the van) while all other equipment was at the other end of a 50 CAT6 cable.  Performance was flawless and I recorded 4 minutes of video without a single dropped frame.  I really cant think of a better endorsement.  For me, it was as if the 4 devices were plugged directly into the laptop.  I had NO reliability issues and NO performance issues.  Plus, installation is as painless as can be.  Just plug it in.  No software to install.  Completely transparent.  Im really happy with this product.

My wife and I purchased a telescope for our son a few months back as a birthday present (Orion SkyQuest XT8 Classic Dobsonian Telescope Kit). While we have had good family fun searching the skies, we decided to make some improvements to our setup to make it even more enjoyable by purchasing a camera. With the addition of the Neximage 10, we can now live view on a laptop allowing everyone to see without having to share the eyepiece - reducing the possibility of moving the telescope between viewers. Of course, another benefit, and the biggest factor in our decision is being able to easily capture images of our night adventures! The included software (iCap) is reasonably intuitive and it wasn't difficult getting things set up and running. In my preparations for the first night out, and based on recommendations, I also installed the free version of Sharpcap for comparison purposes. Once you have a grasp on the gain and exposure settings both software programs work well but I found Sharpcap a little easier to use overall. For reference, I'm using a reasonably current Windows-based laptop with an i7 quad-core processor and more than average ram. As far as the camera goes - it seems to be well built although I am concerned about the lack of strain relief on the USB plug. I'll probably come up with a way to fasten the cable to the telescope body so the cable isn't constantly weighing on the connection. Imaging seems to be pretty good for a camera at this price point. In summary, I found it easy to go from unboxing to capturing images in the back yard the same evening. It's a great tool to expand the fun of learning. My Son was excited to share our photos with his science teacher since they were just studying the phases of the moon prior to being sent home for the Covid-19 pandemic. I've attached a couple of sample images from our first night's use. We need to work on focusing a bit but these show the potential this camera has.
