Samsung Laptop Slow To Boot Up

My old laptop had gotten very slow, taking forever to boot into Ubuntu 19.04. I figured it would get worse with 20.04, so I sprung for a replacement to the original 160GB spinning drive. This did the trick - the old Lenovo now seems almost zippy.

I cloned my Samsung 980 Pro OS Boot drive using Macrium Reflect, and found no boot issues with the 990 Pro. It is fast, and is compatible with Samsung Magician. What's not to like?

I got this for both gaming and work. It's been exceptional so far. Lightning fast processing and boot times. Up next I'll be running it through some video editing I need to get done. No regrets on getting this 12th gen.

I still have my old H4N. And it still works, perfectly fine actually. It's just so darn slow on boot up and I wanted a little bit more functionality. I decided on upgrading to the H6N. Used Zoom products for a while and have always been happy with their devices. Super simple and intuitive menus. And the color screen is a huge upgrade from the H4N. Not to mention, the interchangeable integrated microphones make it super easy for simple desktop podcast/recording setups.

The 2011 iMac was slow and tired. After adding the SSD and configuring it as the primary boot device, this machine is now useful, snappy and fun again. The upgrade was a bit of a major pain in the ***, but WELL worth the effort once all was said and done. So very happy now.

Daughter's 2010 MacBook Pro has been halfway around the world, but just started getting slow to load, slow to switch applications, and slow to boot up. A friend suggested putting in an SDD.Wow. Cloning the native HD to the SDD was no problem (used CCC, but that's not graven in stone). Once cloned, taking out the old one, switching the lug screws at the corners (OK, have your tor wrench--the $ set from B&H is cool) onto the SDD to hold it in place, and the open-out-in won't take a half-hour, and presto! Instant boot. Speed gain is immense. A little more RAM might not hurt...Samsung drives are as highly rated as anything out there, and this was such a snap, my daughter did everything but the cloning. Highly recommend.

Replaced aging IDE Boot drive with Samsung 850 Pro 128GB. Cloned old drive over to new drive, changed boot in bios and was done. Very fast and best warranty in the industry.

I work in the semiconductor industry, therefore I was aware of 3D NAND. When I saw that Samsung had V-NAND SSDs available, I decided to try the 850 PRO 512GB SSD. I installed it in a 6 year old computer. I did a clean Win 7 install. After the first boot up, I was stunned. This computer used to take 4 - 5 minutes to fully cold boot. Now it only takes 45 - 55 seconds. from a cold boot. Apps now open virtually immediately. This V-NAND SSD has breathed new life into a 6 year old computer. It is faster than my 1 1/2 year old Win 7 computer with a faster processor. Both computers have Core i7 processors . Both have Win 7. I had a computer with an SSD several years ago. It was fast, but nothing like what I am experiencing with the 32 level V-NAND SSD from Samsung.

I've been a big fan of Samsung's T7, but this guy has almost twice the write speed. I boot my OS from it and haven't had any problems.
