[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Samsung SSD 980 is a very fast and reliable drive. I currently use a 2.5 inch wide Samsung SSD from a few years ago and the difference in speed and responsiveness is absolutely noticed. I cloned over my main OS and have it running on this drive and opening programs is as fast as a blink of an eye. Windows loads in 13 seconds on cold boot up which is amazing considering my old SSD was around 40 seconds. Loading Photoshop is about 2 seconds. As I work with large photos of videos, I no longer have lag scrubbing though the files. What I really like about Samsung is that they control the entire supply chain when building their SSD drives including their controllers which I feel helps optimize the entire SSD and also aids in Samsung's great reliability record. 3500mb/s are speeds that only a few years ago where not mass market. The Samsung SSD is air cooled and has a special nickel coating to help keep things cool as the shear speed of drive is keeping performance at top priority without worry of overheating. I feel absolutely amazed at all the time in engineering Samsung has put into making this drive perform the way is does. This kind of performance really helps especially in video editing and opening large file sizes with ease. I can finally scrub through 4k video on my computer smoothly. Great job Samsung. 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've always been a fan of Samsung portable hard drives. I own the T5 and T7, and I recently got my hands on the T9. It's seriously fast! To test it out, I copied an 8 GB file, and the T5 and T7 took about 26 seconds, but the T9 did it in just 24 seconds. It might not sound like a big deal, but those 2 seconds show that Samsung keeps improving their drives, which is cool because the older ones were already great. Using the T9 is a breeze – just plug it in, and you're good to go. It also looks awesome with that rubbery texture that not only feels great in your hand but also gives you a good grip. I can't stop holding it; it's just that nice. And, it's not just about looks and speed; it's got your data's back. The password protection is a solid security feature, and the drive feels both light and sturdy. You can tell it's built to take a little beating. Honestly, I'm pretty excited about what Samsung has in store with the T11. 5 |

a month installed by now and so far, so good. I already had a Samsung SSD 850 (not PRO) on my iMac for a year installed by now and the change is huge, I have to say that I prefer to run a clean installation of the OS so a small part of the improvement in speed is coming from that though. The booting was taking around 90 seconds with the HDD and now it takes around 9 seconds on a MB Pro mid 2012. 5 |

samsung is known for their ssd's and if you don't have an m.2 slot on your motherboard, then you definitely need to pick one up. an ssd is basically essential for all computer builds now. the 860 pro uses v-nand which is a lot faster under heavier loads compared to qlc, so if you are torn between the evo or the pro just get the pro. if you are working with large files or many small files this drive's speeds are unreal. windows boots in literal seconds, and large 1440p and 4k videos are copied over in seconds. samsung drives are best in class, and you should not settle for any less. 5 |
