I feared that this unit, having the upgraded controller by Samsung, was going to generate more heat than would be recommended for a laptop, but after setting up Linux and adding all kinds of applications to my laptop the heat problem has not been such.

Very very bright. Does put off a bit of heat. But in a large open area it is not that bad. Be careful not to trip over it and fall. I have two and both have fell and broke outter glass and some of the shell. Good thing is the cost if so low I did not mind replacing.

It's a nice cable. Does what it's supposed to do. The connections are strong, each end is labeled and heat shrinked. You can't go wrong.
