I bought the real FUJIFILM VERTICAL BATTERY GRIP X-T1 when I bought my Fuji X-T1 and I think I paid over $200 for it. After a few years it died. Internet search claims the problem is that a pin inside is bent. I was tempted to send it to Fujifilm for repair but past dealings with their repair department was a nightmare. And would probably cost me twice what I paid for the VELLO. I bought the Vello BG-F1 for about $59. Works great and priced right. Remember it only holds a second battery nothing else, no super technology, no moving parts. The VELLO is better than my Fuji Vertical Grip because the battery door closes and locks. A defect and constant problem in the original Fuji Grip made the battery door finicky and often it would not close, or lock and sometimes fly open. There are a number of videos online on how to fix the door problem with glue and tape, but its easier just to buy the VELLO. 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We are a computer repair shop, and use these (or similar) Samsung Evo drives very regularly. The Magician software makes cloning old drives super easy, and almost never have to warranty Samsung's drives. I wouldn't buy any other brand for my personal devices. 5 |

I had an old Drobo that died (the unit, not the drives) and it was going to be almost as expensive as this Synology to repair, so I figured I'd switch (fortunately I had a backup of the Drobo) I installed the drives from the Drobo, it formatted them, and I was able to successfully copy terabytes of data from the second Drobo to the Synology. I'm going to get another one as a replacement for the second Drobo - who knows how long it'll last 5 |

The product for the moments where you are just not ready to let the light switch next to the door go. Great device. 5 |

Very well made but if you decide to switch the battery door on to the bracket you will lose the weather seal for battery compartment. 5 |

We used this to connect our patch panel to the switch below in the rack. Because of the depth of the UPS and Server in the rack the front rails were very close to the front. This results in very little clearance for cabling to the front door of the rack. These patch cords bend tightly, allowing the rack door to easily close. 5 |

We fitted two smart door sensors which are useful to switch off AC when left open, so saving energy. Also, we have the security feature activated, this is useful to know when people are moving about when we’re not home. The Ecobee system we’ve installed integrates well with the smart home infrastructure, at night if a bedroom door is opened the hallway light comes on low so it’s possible to see where you’re going without compromising night vision. 5 |

OK, so after using this for a couple of weeks, I can say that this grip is darn near as good as the Sony version. The key difference is that the Sony version has a cartridge for the batteries to snap into then slide the cartridge into the grip then lock the battery door. The Vello grip has a more standard drawer type mechanism where the batteries are inserted into the drawer then slide into the grip and locked in in one motion. Basically the door of the Sony unit is attached to the Grip, the door of the Vello Unit is attached to the drawer. Other than that, the grip is as comfortable at the Sony version if not more so. The Vello grip seems to have a more grippable tactile surface. BOTH of the units display the power charge of each battery on the LCD. One feature I prefer on the Vello unit over the Sony is that the power switch is on the back of the grip where you can easily turn it on and off with your thumb. The Sony unit has a twist type knob that sits near the shutter which always required me to use 2 hands to power the unit ON. I find I can switch on and off the Vello Unit much easier and more quickly than I can the Sony. I tend to keep my grip powered off when not using it in vertical mode so that I don't accidently half press on the vertical shutter button with the bottom of my hand when shooting horizontally. NOTE: The power switch on BOTH units just turns on the shutter button and other functions of the grip. It does not power the camera on and off. So with all that said, save yourself near $300 and buy this over the Sony. 5 |
