Samsung Monitor Driver Update

You need to download a newer driver than what is on the CD because there is a Linux kernel update.

I haven't used it yet, I'm on my last roll of original media, I know you have to update the driver on the printer to use this new media, which will apparently speed up the printing - but it isn't backward compatible. So I'm patiently waiting to finish my roll. I'm reviewing this product to say How pleased I am with the price and the speed in which I received my goods. Being in Canada, I sometimes get f**ked on shipping charges - but BHPhoto spared me this pain. So Thank you. Dan.

If you get this, I needed a firmware and driver update. It was not working right. But the firmware is right on the Steinberg web site, and easy to install.

After a recent Windows update caused display driver issues, I needed to change to a different video input and my display didn't have built in support for DisplayPort. While it took a minor reconfigure for Windows to recognize the new connection, it's been working perfectly ever since.

The installation was easy, and it performed as advertised. Driver update was a breeze, and Armoury software is very good.

Pros: Very fast startup, Very easy to install using Samsung's Data Migration Software. I installed the 850 PRO by migrating my boot HDD to the 850 PRO and replacing the HDD (my C: drive) with the much faster 850 PRO. Everything went very smoothly in my Windows 10 AMD desktop. Cons: Samsung could do a better job on instructing the user on how to prepare the system prior to the start of data migration. For example there should be a set of instructions informing the user to make sure the AHCI driver is loaded on the Windows 10 system prior to the start of data migration. If you don't use AHCI you will not get the maximum performance from your ssd. If you install the AHCI driver after migrating the data to the ssd and then replacing the hdd with the ssd, you may lose the ability to boot the computer from the ssd. Windows 10 does not install the AHCI driver in a fresh install of Windows 10. Samsung should have step by step instructions on what to do to make sure we get best performance for which the ssd was designed.

This SSD supports the new PCIE 4.0 standard. My laptop supports only the previous PCIE 3.0 standard. So, I was thinking the speed would still be the same as before given the situation. I was mistaken. This new SSD boots up faster than my previous 970 EVO Plus, so it is in fact an upgrade and future proof. However, the problem is not with the drive, the problem is with the Samsung driver. Samsung is at this writing only, making a driver available for their SSD's UP TO AND INCLUDING the 970 series only. There is no Samsung Elpis controller driver for this model. So, Windows 10 uses the built-in standard Microsoft NVME driver for Windows 10 that was written in 2006. Almost 15 years ago. So, I imagine that as soon as Samsung releases a new driver for this device, it will be even faster. Love it.

I really like this monitor it's a definite upgrade from my 32" samsung.

I’ve had this about two weeks now and am very well pleased. It was very easy to connect to my Samsung HDTV. One thing I suggest that you do up front is to update the software because it fixes known bugs. You can go to the VIZIO website to get that update. It would have been helpful it that had been mentioned in the manual but it wasn’t.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's really hard to go wrong with Samsung when it comes to SSD's or any form of digital storage. I have been using them since I got my first Samsung 2.5" SATA SSD 9 years ago (which is still going strong!). Per usual, Samsung is at the top of performance specs and the 990 Pro is no different with sequential read/write speeds up to 7450/6900 MB/s, which I was able to achieve using Crystal Disk benchmark software. Before doing anything though, you should install the Samsung Magician software for hard drive management and update the firmware to be current that fixes some issues that were reported on. Once updated, you can also use the software to manage other drive features like encryption, performance optimization, or run health checks. I have this in my PC now as I wanted to update the drive and run some benchmarks, but I plan to move it into my video game console and pick up a second 2TB 990 pro for the PC. Once again, I am a very happy Samsung hard drive customer and couldn’t imagine going with another brand. They have great performance, longevity, and a proven track record. They have earned and continue to have my trust in keeping my data safe and devices running at lightning speed.
