Samsung Monitor Firmware

I tried photography many years ago and didn't really have the patience to stay with it. I thought that dream was gone until I happened upon the Samsung NX300. The Camera and the technology that Samsung has woven into the product will knock your socks off. You don't need to know everything if hardly anything to use the camera. If you shoot in Auto, it does all the work for you. All you have to do is take the Credit while the NX300 and its companion product’s do the rest. I bought a previously owned NX300 on an auction site. Since then I have added 3 more to my collection. With a hands on approach the intuitive nature of the Camera, can teach you as you progress. With the simple promptings that the Camera offers, it’s like having a tutor, so with very little time and simple review, one can make a picture appear that will amaze you. Example, I use my Samsung Tablet as a remote plate form for bird watching. I set my NX300 on a tripod and sit at my computer. I can monitor the birds and when I see a shot, I simply trigger the camera with my Samsung Tablet and SnaP! a Great Shot. Another Fantastic Feature of my Samsung NX300 and Tablet is the Firmware. By upgrading your Firmware your camera can Evolve as new features are realized. I would love to have a Samsung NX1 but until I can afford one, the NX300 is Perfect! 5 |

Added this 980 pro to my Lenovo LOQ, installed Samsung Magician to verify its firmware and I was glad to find it had the latest one. The one free of problems. Recommended product. 5 |

I picked this rather than the plain 980 which uses system memory as a cache. This drive is quite quick! One thing I have to say is that I think there is more than one version of the 970 EVO Plus. The one I have has an up to date firmware, but it is a different version than the latest firmware offered on Samsung semiconductor's site. One nice thing about the Samsung semiconductor drives is that you can update the firmware even if you use a non-Windows OS like I do. I run Linux generally, and this was helpful for me. 5 |

Works like it should with my Mac Pro 2013 "trashcan". I had a Samsung 980 Pro but after their latest firmware update that drive started misbehaving. Apparently Samsung's controllers don't play nicely with macs. WD was recommended by the mac community and it has been a good decision. 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Works well and is very stable, firmware updates made it faster, and, Samsung Magician is a very intuitive app and gives you stats about the drive 5 |

This appears to be the same monitor case as the Lilliput A8S without the SDI connectors (although the case has the punch-outs for them). I don't know about the circuitry but I'm sure the firmware is a little different. Certainly the splash screen is, as it says Elvid instead of Field Monitor upon power up. That said, I also have an A8S and the picture looks so close on both of them that one could mistake either for the other if based only on image quality. I have not yet attempted to load any LUTs to it but I have read that others didn't have all the issues known to occur with the Lilliput version. Yet another indication that the Elvid has different, and perhaps better firmware and/or innards? It has a default/native res of 1920x1200 and does a decent job of scaling. I use this as a second monitor on a streaming production PC and as a field monitor and in the 2-3 weeks I've had it, it's been reliable and held a great picture. While one could argue a difference in time savings, I personally like the hood being attached with the included thumbscrews rather than Velcro. The screws are more secure and it also means the ingenious design of having tripod mounts on all sides - I mount mine in the studio using one of the side mount points. I love that! It's a great monitor for the price, and the extras that come with it; while some may deem necessary, it's nice to get them included instead of having to source them separately. At any rate, currently I feel comfortable recommending it to anyone looking for a 9 field monitor on a small-to-medium sized company budget. 5 |

This monitor is great. The calibration works fine. As others have pointed out, read through everything and do the stand alone calibration first. THEN do the other regular calibration. I love that it turns off when you walk away, and turns back on when you return. Only issue I have had is updating the firmware hasn't worked. And judging from the manual's warnings, that process is touchy and could result in bricking the monitor. I'm not sure I want to take the risk pursuing the update, but it is working with the factory firmware so I'm leaving it with that. I would buy this monitor again. 5 |

I've had two of these. Kudos to Portkeys for improving the firmware on this monitor over the years. It's bright enough to use outside without a hood and communicates with the Komodo wirelessly. I don't use this option that often, but it's there if needed. I love the function keys on top which can be assigned to different functions. I use peaking and false color the most. They are positioned in the perfect place and are easy to use. Great monitor for the price. 5 |

The picture looks absolutely stunning, the monitor came with the latest firmware which had the support for sRGB color profile and everything looks perfectly vibrant. I use the monitor for both professional works which utilizes the color space and for gaming. Couldn't be more happier with the purchase, came with 0 dead pixels. There's a very minimal ips glow but that doesn't bother me at all. Overall 10/10 5 |
