I was thinking of getting myself an Ultra wide gaming monitor but always thought the 49" G9 was too big that's when Samsung released this with the same panel as in the Alienware OLED monitor that is getting rave reviews. The difference between this and the Alienware monitor is that this one comes with Samsung OS and is easy to connect to my other Samsung ecosystem products. This monitor is perfect to run Dex on or even can be used as a TV. The OLED panel is brilliant and the movies and games pop on it.

It was easy to put together and attach to my desk and the monitor. Ergotron really did their homework when they designed this arm. It is well worth the price.

Let's start with the basics, the colors are vibrant and the blacks are true. This aside, the Samsung G8 is like a full blown TV! As soon as you get it all connected, the first thing you are greeted with is a TV like menu. You get free options like Samsung TV Plus, as well as paid subscriptions such as Netflix, Disney Plus and Prime Video. The monitor comes with a handy remote like a TV with buttons that correspond to the aforementioned subscription services. The monitor also features built in speakers that sound just fine as computer speakers but if you want something more robust, I would suggest better computer speakers or even a soundbar. Gaming on this monitor is just above and beyond! Colors pop, blacks stand out against vivid backgrounds and the refresh rate is superb! For gaming, I am absolutely in love! Overall, to say I am impressed with this monitor would be an understatement! It comes with a remote that has a solar panel built-in for charging. This makes getting to the settings and content a lot easier than your standard monitor. I am amazed at the picture quality that this monitor has to offer. Not only is it great for streaming content and playing games, it is also great for regular computer use.
