Samsung Oled Ultrawide Monitor

I researched multiple OLED ultrawide displays and I concluded with this one from LG. The competition to this screen are either older models with HDMI 2.0 or for some reason decide to go with the mini-version for the ports. The other deciding factor is the screen finish. I use this monitor in a well-lit room due to a window but with this monitor you wouldn't be able to tell. The combination of the matte coating and the more aggressive 800R curve results in no glare that used to plague me. Additionally, everyone freaking out about the 800R curve just has not tried it yet. Granted it is subjective, but the curve allows for deeper immersion into the game I am playing as well as taking up less space on your desk. Overall, very pleased with this monitor .

It's a really good monitor for the price. It matches my side monitors perfectly. The colors are vibrant. the HDR works well. I do prefer the Fast IPS panel over the OLED just because of all the burn in issues with OLED. It's not perfect though. My older Ultrawide was 35" and had 200hz. If there was a still a Rog Swift Ultrawide I would upgrade (Rog Strix is a lower model than Rog Swift).

The picture is perfect. Gaming on this monitor is life changing. You feel like you are in the game. 240hz makes for the smoothest experience!! The infinity core lighting is a fun nice feature. I use the monitor with a gabbing pc and a work laptop. I wish the monitor detected and displayed the computer that is powered on.

I was thinking of getting myself an Ultra wide gaming monitor but always thought the 49" G9 was too big that's when Samsung released this with the same panel as in the Alienware OLED monitor that is getting rave reviews. The difference between this and the Alienware monitor is that this one comes with Samsung OS and is easy to connect to my other Samsung ecosystem products. This monitor is perfect to run Dex on or even can be used as a TV. The OLED panel is brilliant and the movies and games pop on it.

Let's start with the basics, the colors are vibrant and the blacks are true. This aside, the Samsung G8 is like a full blown TV! As soon as you get it all connected, the first thing you are greeted with is a TV like menu. You get free options like Samsung TV Plus, as well as paid subscriptions such as Netflix, Disney Plus and Prime Video. The monitor comes with a handy remote like a TV with buttons that correspond to the aforementioned subscription services. The monitor also features built in speakers that sound just fine as computer speakers but if you want something more robust, I would suggest better computer speakers or even a soundbar. Gaming on this monitor is just above and beyond! Colors pop, blacks stand out against vivid backgrounds and the refresh rate is superb! For gaming, I am absolutely in love!
