Samsung Phone Charger Port Repair

The charge port on my Samsung phone got broken. Wanted to wait and get a 5G phone later this year. Bought a cheap eBay charger that broke after 1 week. I picked up this charger at B&H and it has worked everyday for the past 3 weeks. I had to widen the area a little to fit my extra wide battery, but that was simple. Don't waste your time and money on those cheap charges. This one is is worth the extra$8. As a bonus it also charges other batteries.

When I bought this I had only moderate expectations. The reviews here are good but the reviews on that other website "where everybody buys stuff" were not so good. Stories about instability and lack of compatibility abound. So I was pleasantly surprised when I started to use this. It paired immediately with my Samsung galaxy note 20. The app installed without incident via a QR code. As soon as the gimbal paired attached it offered to update its own firmware, which completed without any issues. I have had absolutely no problems with the gimbal crashing, or the app crashing, or the video recorder stopping. It has all being stable as can be. The only complaint is a minor one and it has to do with charging the battery. The lower port is used for charging. Even though it is a USB-C port it is not USB-C PD capable. This means you need to use a charger with a USB-A port, and a USB A to USB-C charge cable. if you try to use a USB-C PD charger, the device will not charge. While this is only a minor issue it should be mentioned in the documentation and it is not. I was able to determine that the device will charge at 10W. The gimbal works extremely well. It is very stable, and the video quality is much better than what I was getting out of the phone previously. It has no problem handling my Samsung note 20 ultra which is a very large and heavy phone. The big upside with this model compared with its obvious competitors (ie, DJI OM4) is that it has 3.5mm ports for an external microphone. The model I bought from B&H included the Saramonic smartmic. My phone does not have a microphone jack so I purchased an analog to USB-C adapter for $13. The result is much better audio than I was able to capture with the smart phone alone. Overall I am very happy with this purchase.

I am able to fit my Mac charger + cable, phone charger + cable, multi-port dongle, 1500mAh battery, external SSD + cable, a few different spare USB cables, a couple USB thumb drives, USB adapters, SD cards, air pods, earpods (3.5mm), earpods (lightening), 2 pens + sharpie, and screen cleaning cloth in my tech pouch. Its sturdy with high quality zippers.

Easier to use than the kit charger, you can charge a spare battery and not have to idle the NEX 5. Has a second, USB, port, you could even charge your phone at the same time. Worth every penny

I use this 3' cable to charge my phone in the car. I have a dual-port car charger that puts out 2.4A per port, and the phone charges pretty quickly when using this cable. The cable is well made, so I expect it to last a while. It connects securely to my phone's USB-C port.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I LOVE this product. It’s the best portable charger I’ve owned, and I’ve tried a lot! The design is genius- you just plug it right in to charge it, which I do overnight, when I would be plugging in my phone to charge anyway. You can charge your phone while it’s plugged in and charging itself, which makes it so smart. It charges super quick, and charges your phone even faster. I can get maybe two full charges out of it before having to plug back in to charge- basically it gets me through the whole day with a charged phone, and I don’t have to worry about charging until I go to bed. I love that you can push the outlet charger piece in when you aren’t using it, it makes it sleeker and ensures you don’t damage that piece while on the go. It has both a regular USB port and a type C port (I believe it’s called a type C, it’s the type on the newest model apple/iPhone chargers), and this is so convenient because I can easily charge anything else using the USB port while charging my iPhone. The size is just right- big enough I won’t loose it and it has awesome charging ability, but not too big that I can’t throw it in a small purse for on the go needs. I highly recommend- I ordered another for family members already! Lastly, most portables I’ve had before end up breaking after a few months, or they slow down so much that they aren’t useful. So far, I have no indication of that being an issue, this thing is sturdy and well made.

I keep this 6' cable in my car for people to use to charge their phone while sitting in the back seat. I use it with a dual-port car charger that puts out 2.4A per port, and the cable is able to carry the full power that the charger puts out. Good strain relief at each end, so I expect the cable to last.

Nice small charger for the Olympus BLN-1 battery. It has a USB port available for charging a phone, etc. Great for traveling since it works with AC from 100 to 240v. The tabs tha hold the battery in place look a little fragile but with care will work fine. I used mine for 5 years with no problems. I am on my second one due to my leaving it on a hotel.
