I have had two other tablets in the past. One Wacom and one IP-Pen. The medium Xencelabs tablet is the best I have ever used and comes with two pens an added plus.

Ive always had a few technical problems with Wacom tablets, when paired to a PC. Windows/driver updates can throw a wrench in things. This video is one that helped clear up my issues where the pen was panning instead of drawing, no pen pressure and other annoying Windows ink features. Lots of forum searches and youtube watching. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sGi47EWEkuY I also left my regular tablet plugged in and it trips up the function of the Cintiq. If you have the pen or mouse actively sitting on it, it will not allow drawing on the Cintiq. Simple problem, but it took me way too long to figure out. :) Smooth sailing, once the set up is complete.

My first two tablets were Wacom Intuos and Intuos 2s back in the 00s. Both still work. I got out of drawing for awhile and used some other brands. Wacom is still my preferred maker. The texturing on the screen is great and feels much closer to paper. The color is great, and the screen is treated in a way that it's easier to look at over time than other display tablets. The tablet is light and easy to set up, with the stand built into the back. The price point is also excellent for students or hobbyists like myself who can't quite justify $1500 for their equipment. Much more pleased with this product than I expected to be. The only thing I wish it came with was a pen stand, but it is designed to be portable and instead has a strap for the pen on this side -- I keep mine in my desk's pencil holder. No issues with refurbished, and have bought refurbished Wacom before.

I love these tablets but my biggest issues was the cord. Initially there were two, power and serial. Last one was just a single cord but still big and thick. This one is cordless and the battery lasts... well, I'm not sure. It's been 8 days and I use it a lot and it's still 56% full according to the little app in the windows notification area. I LOVE being able to sit back in my chair and draw. I wish I could afford the one that has the built in screen but that's more than a grand and a few years away for me. Since the turn of the century I have not found a tablet on which I would rather draw. As an aside, I also got the airbrush pen and I do regret that purchase a bit. It totally does what it's supposed to, feels good in the hand, but I think this is for people already comfortable with the airbrush. If you don't already have the motor memory you can do the same with a regular pen; it just feels different.

Love this new Special Edition Tablet. Looks sleek and matches the new MacPro we're bringing online strickly for video production. It does have a little bigger footprint than other past tablets but for me I like that and it feels natural. This is a wireless tablet and has a very small receiver that takes up a USB 3 slot in the MacPro. The Transmitter has to be installed in the tablet itself. Both of these items come with the tablet along with a USB cable if you need it. In the very beginning when I was setting this up, I went to Wacom & installed the proper driver. Then when the computer went to sleep & I woke it up the tablet wouldn't wake up properly. The bottom line is, when the the CPU wakes up, you then push the center tablet button on the left sidethat wakes up the tabletthen just tap the ERASER end of the pen on the tablet and the pen is now activated. Own several workstations. They all have a tablet. Absolutely love tablets. Haven't used a mouse in many years.

I bought this Wacom Intuos Draw Pen Small Tablet (White) for quick edits in Lightroom x Photoshop and for travels. I can really appreciate that this is pretty much straightforward and simple. I don't really use touch, nor do I use the eraser that the Intuos Pro offers (or some of the older Bamboo series tablets), so this works out for me. The loop at the top of the pad is really useful for keeping the pen safe when it is packed away. This size is perfect for on-the-go edits. I have used this pad on an airplane (Economy seating) and I'm able to get some work done with this. Small is definitely much more sensitive than Medium on tablet work, but doable. I'd recommend using this with the flex nibs for more control. Anybody who has owned any of the tablets knows this is WAY better than using the mouse/trackpad for edits. This is one of the most affordable solutions.

I have owned a Cintiq 21 (dead after many years of use), currently have a Cintiq 13HD and previously owned a smaller Wacom tablet. This little device is quite impressive for the price. On par performance wise where it counts. You don't get an eraser end like the other Wacom tablets (never used that personally, I just change brushes as I don't like the abrasive plastic on the eraser side) Also, the pen is not compatible between this device and the other tablets, just an FYI. This can be used effectively for drawing/painting/retouching. It is bare bones compared to the Intuos/Wacom main tablets, with no extra function buttons and such. But the bulk of desired functionality (the pressure sensitive pen) is exactly right.

I have been using another leading brand of pen tablets for upward of 8 years. I have always had to use it wired because I could never get the wireless dongle to stay connected. Not to mentioned the constant driver issues. I had been reading a lot about these tablets, but hesitated because I already had a small and a medium of the other brand. However, I finally took the plunge and I couldn't be happier. The setup was a breeze and I have not lost wireless connectivity once since I hooked it up a couple of weeks ago. Some people mentioned that they didn't like the feel of the larger pen, but personally, I like it better. It has a smoother feel in the hand. The surface of the tablet feels a bit smoother, (less drag), as well. I tried the felt tips that come with it, but prefer the black plastic ones myself. I don't use the quick keys to their fullest capability and I probably wouldn't have purchased them if there was a medium tablet in white, without them. But, with that said, I have found myself using them on occasion. So, at some point I may find myself using them more. In the two weeks that I have had this tablet, (and I use it everyday), I have experienced zero problems. I am truly enjoying using it!! There is one con to the product, it doesn't have finger touch capabilities, (at least not what I have discovered), but I overcame that habit quickly with my trackpad. So, if you are in the market for a new pen tablet, or a first time buyer, I would without hesitation recommend this tablet!!
