When my Samsung Series 7 laptop started making loud noises, I knew I had a problem. If you've ever had a HHD fail, you know the sound I'm talking about. I ran to Bestbuy to pickup a SSD to replace my HHD and they didn't have the cable I needed. Dead in the water... I searched online for a USB 3.0 to 2.5 SATA III drive adapter cable and found some crazy expensive options. With a little more digging I found H&B Photo. They had the cable in stock at a great price and shipped it overnight to me. Within 24 hours the SSD was installed and I was up and running. NOW my machine is CRAZY fast and whisper quiet. My laptop had a 2TB Samsung EVO 970 plus system drive and I bought this WD black to put in a USB enclosure. But before I did, I ran Crystal Disk Mark on the Samsung, cloned the system to this drive and ran it again on this drive. My laptop is only PCI 3 so I wasn't expecting the stated performance, and no surprise it didn't make those numbers. But it did perform a little better than the Samsung and ran a bit cooler also. So I kept this WD black as the system drive and wiped the Samsung and put that one in the USB enclosure. Now it's a few weeks later and so far so good. 5 |

The best laptop I’ve ever owned. First of all, it looks good with its sleek black casing. The screen is suitably large and the resolution and color rendition is outstanding for a device in this price range. I haven’t had a Windows laptop for about 8 years, a not very good Asus laptop which failed from some computer degenerative disease. The LG laptop is orders of magnitude better. Since I haven’t had it very long, I can only hope that I need to replace it because it is obsolete. 5 |
