The Samsung HW-Q800D is meant to replace an older 2.1 soundbar that vastly lacked in volume and surround features. Can the Samsung HW-Q800D make a difference in such a voluminous space? Let me tell you that it can and then some. First off, let’s talk about connectivity. If you have HDMI eARC on your TV, connect it there, and you are off to the races. If you want Bluetooth connectivity to your phone or tablet, that’s also easy enough as well. Finally, if you want to connect to WiFi to make it a smart speaker with Google Assistant, Alexa, or Bixby that’s easy enough with the Samsung SmartThings app. The sound stage for the HW-Q800D truly does impress even in a large room such as mine. I tested the surround channels through my gaming console settings, and the sound bar’s ability to produce discrete locations for sound that clearly defined height and depth truly is astounding. Credit goes to SpaceFit Sound Pro for being able to calibrate the space in my room for the optimal listening experience. I watched various movies and programs to test the sound quality and was truly amazed at the clarity of dialogue (even better with Active Voice Amplifier on), the rumble of bass from action scenes, and the fidelity of music from soundtracks. Believe me when I say it is a very enjoyable and immersive experience. I have found that even with streaming music and programming that only has 5.1 or stereo, this system makes everything sound all that much better. Now, the only drawback to this soundbar is if you truly wanted the extra surround stage with rear speakers. If your set-up does not require this, then this is truly the best choice for a single surround soundbar with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X capabilities.

My apartment is on the small side but with no central A/C it gets loud in the living room which also doubles as my office. I wanted a solution to louder sound and to improve the standard from my Samsung 4K UHD TV. This AIO Soundbar is a perfect fit. It doesn't take up a lot of room and was super easy to install. Pairing it with my TV took a minute to find that I had to re-enable the HDMI eARC settings on the TV. I have had the TV for 2 years and suspect if it was newer, it might have gelled right away. Either way, it works great and is a fantastic addition to my entertainment experience. I haven't played with any of the advance controls, like the equalizer, and the sound still blows me away. Even in my kitchen with the oven fan on the sound is clear and crisp. Background noises and "surround" features are amazing! More than once I had to turn MUTE the TV because the "surround" sounds were so realistic. The soundbar pairs seamless with my TV remote and my in-home voice assistant. I have to say if you are putting off getting a AIO soundbar, don't! The Samsung S50B is AMAZING!

The set up was very simple and was playing audio within 15 minutes via wifi and included hdmi cable. The included subwoofer is a nice touch to the mighty sound of the soundbar. I was so impressed with the overall sound from playing music and streaming video....I added a pair of the wireless Samsung surround sound speakers (SWA 9500). I have a complete surround sound in my office that rivals my Q900 with SWA 9500 surround sound speakers.

I bought these to complement my Roku soundbar! Surround sound is superb! Setup was quick and easy, more or less controlled by the sound bar. I ordered these from Canada, as no one locally had them in stock. They came promptly and the packaging was good! Great service so I will buy from B&H in the future!

Having a Samsung TV paired with this setup allows for utilization of the Q-Symphony feature which up levels the amount of sound that fills the space. Would highly recommend this product paired with a Samsung tv. The subwoofer adds a level of bass that is just right, without distorting any sound. I did experience some issues in connecting the soundbar to the SmartThings app, however I was able to get it connected by manually adding it in. Overall this is a very impressive product for the price point, and I would definitely recommend for anybody looking to add theater like sound in their home with minimal setup and minimal space being utilized in their entertainment center.

Our family really liked the look of the soundbar because of how sleek and stylish it looks amongst the furniture and the TV stand. The included remote also looks really nice and easy to understand while being very functional. Now onto the main star of the show which is the sound quality. First off the great thing about this soundbar is the fact that it has so many sound modes as well support for different sound profiles and codecs. Some of the modes that I love are Adaptive sound which changes the sound as needed for different scenes in a movie for example during dialogue heavy scenes or during action scenes. My kids love the game mode pro when they play games since it makes the games feel like you are actually in it. Everyone also knows how much Dolby Atmos is a game changer when it comes to watching movies today with its ability bring sound around you with its upfiring speakers. The mode that I cant wait to try out is Q-Symphony once I get my new Samsung TV since it uses the speakers from the TV in conjunction with the soundbar which would truly fill the room with sound.
