I decided to purchase the Samsung T5 Evo SSD portable to transfer my photos and videos. The T5 EVO is Samsung’s latest offering which aims to deliver a large amount of storage at a reasonable price. It has certainly managed to do this with the help of enhanced V-NAND technology pushing the storage up to 8GB. This makes it the world’s largest portable SSD to boast 8TB capacity, surpassing the largest capacity HDDs with 2.5” form factors. The design is compact, light, and ergonomic making it a pleasant device to look at and hold. The T5 Evo is incredibly easy to move around and does away with the need for much bulkier external hard drives that we’ve become accustomed to in years gone by. It comes in three different sizes, 2TB, 4TB, and 8TB so you can pick an option to suit your needs. The read/write speeds are up to 460 MB/sec. The T5 Evo is a fairly solid, middle-of-the-range, SSD that performs adequately enough. What is important to me is security and this device boasts AES 256-bit hardware encryption that is important to me. Overall I really enjoy this device and recommend to everyone.

So far so good with the T9. The 4TB capacity is very good for my storage needs and complements the 4TB T7 I got last year. Samsung reliability is proven to me as I have had a 2TB SSD (970 EVO) as my boot drive in my Dell tower for over 2 years with no problems.

Starting at 2TB it’s one of the largest storage amounts in a portable package. The real draw to the T5 EVO boasts a sleek, compact and minimalist design. Its rubber type casing feels premium and sturdy, making it comfortable to hold and resistant to bumps and scratches. It's also quite lightweight and pocket-sized, measuring just 3.34 x 1.5 x 0.58 inches and super light weight. Can easily be stored in a small safe (if you like to backup all your photos and videos like me) or travel with you anywhere. The T5 EVO connects via a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port. As soon as you connect it, autoplay offers options on what you want to do. So easy for someone not familiar with these products to get started. Just open the file, and start moving files over. It promised read and write speeds of up to 540 MB/s and 500 MB/s, respectively. However, when using the free Samsung Magician program to get insight into this product, I was seeing write speeds on 40 MB/S. it did suggest i use a faster USB port. Not slow enough to bother me and pretty quick file transfers for photos and videos. Power users and creative professionals who frequently deal with I also appreciate the hardware encryption for data security. And the free software - Samsung Portable SSD for password protection and firmware updates Verdict: The Samsung T5 EVO Portable SSD is a solid choice for users who prioritize large storage capacity, portability, and durability. This is an awesome solution to storage for Atomos Ninja V owners. This allows you to use hi capacity SSD's in a great thermal dissapating enclosue THAT DOESNT BLOCK THE FAN! I bought 2 of these so far and used Samsung 2TB 870 drives, saved lots of money and am very happy. Now time to get more! Must peel off the label on the Samsung SSD enclosure in order to reveal 2 of the screws. DIY part is very easy.

This card is a cost-effective way to vastly improve the storage capacity of my Samsung Galaxy S10e phone. I also use one on a Samsung Galaxy S10. If I'm in a pinch, I can also use it on my Mavic Air drone for a ridiculous amount of storage.
