THIS WORKS FOR ALMOST THE ALL GYMS IN MY AREA. THIS BECOMES A PERFECT NORMAL LENS OR MY 1.6 RATIO CAMERA. I MANUAL FOCUS TO 10 OR 12 FEET OR CAN USE THE AUTOFOCUS. THEY SAY AUTOFOCUS IS NOISY IN THIS LENS BUT CHEERLEADERS AND FANS ARE NOISIER SO THAT IS NOT A FACTOR FOR ME. I GET GREAT SHARP PICTURES AND THE PACKAGE IS SO LIGHT AND SMALL. DURABILITY AND CONSTRUCTION WE WILL FIND OUT ABOUT LATER. I AM VERY HAPPY WITH THIS LENS. I NOW USE MY 50MM 1.8 EF LENS FOR VOLLEYBALL PICTURES AND PORTRAIT WORK.

Awesome product. We use it for live broadcasting of our school events. We have a total of four camera that are used for this purpose.

I shoot primarily sports events... It's high school and football season. On the grid iron I shoot with my 300 but in the gym I like to grab my standards shots with a 70-200 before trying to be awesome with a 300 indoors. I hateed screwing on and in screwing my lenses from the monopod, thus the bracket adapter. Problem solved. Easy on and easy off.

I do media for a high school that includes shooting performing arts events and sports events. I commonly use a monopod with my large telephoto lens on the sidelines but never considered buying a gimbal head like this before. A few months ago I tried to shoot some closeups of the actors in a school play from the balcony of the auditorium with my 14 lb Canon EF 400mm f2.8 on a tripod with a regular Arca plate and it was not secure enough. The screw on the plate just could not hold that big lens from loosening. So I purchased this gimbal head and used it with the 400mm telephoto at a recent high school basketball game to shoot cheerleader stunts from the opposite end of the floor. I did purchase a Oben long Arca plate so I had more room for the front to back adjustment of the lens on the gimbal head. I easily got the 400mm f2.8 and my 1D Mark !V camera which weighs 17 lbs balanced on the tripod. Once balanced and without be locked the lens remained level. I was so pleased. The gimbal works very smoothly during aiming to shoot and it can be locked in any position firmly with only light tension of the locking knobs. In just a few minutes I trusted it completely to hold my setup. It is built well. It is a great value and worked like a charm. It is $100 cheaper than other models. It will work even easier with my lighter telephoto lens. I should have purchased this type gimbal head long ago.

I purchased this lens as soon as it came it and I have been using it for various sports events. I have been shooting varsity high school soccer games 3-4 times a week at different times of the day. This lens continues to shoot amazing shots no matter if it is a noon game, 5 o'clock game or an evening game in down pouring rain it will perform!
